When you're trying to make a point about the CBA agreement it doesn't help get your point across when in the same interview you ripped a bunch of beat writers and media reporters who may or may not be idiots but nevertheless are dedicated enthusiasts of your team and keep a fanbase interested with a "DON'T QUESTION ME!!!" disposition

Yeah it was pretty tacky. Assuming he truly does have all of his faculties together (and I'm not sure I buy that), I would expect an owner that's held in such high regard would have been more "above the fray" than to get into that kind of whiny business.

it happens in every franchise, it's not an exclusive phenomenon within the borders of the carolinas

for someone who stresses "we're running a business" he sure took it personally

I doubt we'll ever know the whole truth there.

But historically, they tampered to get Capers, and those midnight contracts with Justin Hartwig and Ma'ake Kemoeatu in 2006 didn't get written in less than an hour.

Pretty much every team tampers. Most just don't get caught, and nobody raises much of a ruckus due to the "glass houses" principle.

The Panthers have a history of being fairly antagonistic toward media in general.

For example, you can't imagine Charles Chandler's expose' of the steroid scandal sat too well at the stadium.

They've been known to deny media credentials to reporters who said something they really didn't like.

Personally, I don't think that's a good policy, but that's how they prefer it.
