Jan. 08, 2011 2:40 p.m. - Defensive coordinator Greg Manusky is interviewing Saturday for the Carolina Panthers’ head coaching vacancy. It’s hard to imagine that job is as attractive to candidates as it was 48 hours ago, when Stanford QB Andrew Luck declared he’s returning to school for another year. 49ers RapidReports

as for the guy that took that little shot in that last sentence, his twitter account can be found here.

mostly tongue in cheek from me, im still defensive about my team...all the time.

yep. only Panthers fans are allowed to make fun of the Panthers!

it's why I'm starting to get a bit irritated with Chris Harris CONSTANTLY trashing the Panthers whenever he gets the chance. still like Harris, but it's getting old..

We don't know yet as far as I can tell... or at least, no outlet has reported it that I can find. Been watching it closely, I really hope he impresses or we go with an offensive candidate.

Me too. I was hoping they would interview Rivera last, that way they can go ahead and work on a contract for him before they leave that night and don't have to worry about interviewing anyone else.

I think Manusky would be a good choice...

...I don't think that he will get the HC job, however with the assumption that Stanford defensive coordinator Vic Fangio is expected to follow Jim Harbaugh to San Francisco ...Manusky may be a good DC candidate for us

    • It's not common for a RB to recover from two ACL tears in the same knee. It's fairly rare. You are correct that it isn't the career ender that it used to be but there is also the fact that we appear to have largely moved on with the additions of Dowdle and Etienne.  Dobbins is a very good example. He has basically missed 54% of his career regular season games since he came into the league in 2020. It will end up being 57% at the conclusion of this season. It's a big contributing factor to why he is on this third NFL team in 6 years. It's certainly possible that may be 4 by the beginning of next season. I would say there is very little chance that Brooks ever contributes in any meaningful way in Carolina. Possibly with another team but I am extremely skeptical of his future here because of those injuries and because of the roster.
    • Dude he didnt play in pre season.....  he didnt practice at all with the team until the end of October.    I do agree though.
    • Bryce had a hand in the Miami win but not nearly as large of one as Rico and he also had the extra burden of being a big reason we were in the hole in the first place. If we get a winning season he is definitely back for next year though.
