Fairly does not have a bad rep...he is just downright nasty on the field. He seems like the kind of defensive player that Rivera would like. He is disruptive in the backfield and would give the inside push that we need.

Anyone saying "it is only one gme", has not watched Auburn football this season. I have seen 7 of their games this season.....and Fairley was a beast in EVERY ONE of them.

Yeah, just my top concern is like someone else pointed out: when he signs that huge contract he may decide to be lazy. Hopefully not though, hearing him talk you can tell he fully enjoys the game of football.

I kinda feel like posters here are expecting him to be Suh.

I am not saying you don't draft him still, but I do hope posters realize he may not make the immediate impact they are after... I hope he does if we take him though.

Has Fairley won the awards Sapp did? Why are we comparing the two?

Green is the only one thats declared so right now he's clearly #1. I have to agree DT is major issue. And if the front office is going to give Jimmy another chance then thePanthers needs all the defense help they can get

I think we go DT, unless maybe we trade down.

If we get a dominate DT our defense would be much better, and it's already decent. It would help Charles Johnson (who was great already last year) and even future guys like Hardy (who I hope starts).

Our WR's showed progress, and on a team like we were, that's huge.

Don't forget guys that our next OC may actually use this position called.... the TE to also spread out the offense. I think we have some TE's that will finally contribute next year, hopefully.

It seems a lot of experts around the league still think Clausen is starter material. Let's face it, he wasn't given much of a chance last year. I'd like to see a competent QB coach and OC design things that work toward his strengths. I will not be surprised at all to see us go into training camp (if there is one) with Clausen and a vet QB around. If Moore is cheap enough I say keep him around too.

I don't get taking Green when there is a player available like Fairley who fits a need. Of course, Fairley won't score points like Green would but he still will be the same caliber player just at a different position. This pick has to be Fairley.
