Dj Williams from Arkansa would be an amazing still in the 3rd round the guys was the Mackey award winner for the nations best te for God sakes. He lacks the size of Rudolph who is 6-6, but only standing at 6-2 is 250 makes up for up for it as a blocker and runs a 4.5!

I hope we can find gold at the Tight End position like the Patriots did. This year there were 5 rookie tight ends with over 350+ yards, last year there were none. I think TEs are becoming more availible due to the way the NFL have evolved in using them. I am looking at past rooke TE stats on NFL.com It looks like this years draft was one of the deepest at the tight end position since 2002. I hope this year will be the same. If anyone is interested in looking at how past rookies played check out that link. I think it will be a useful tool for those stat freaks.

M Lewis is not a blocking TE. He is tall and lanky.

I think we would want someone more well-rounded like Gates.

You can't be serious, Lewis is one of the better blockers at his position. Being tall and lanky doesn't matter. Anthony Becht was of similar stature and he was one of the best blocking tight ends I've seen in a while. If anything Lewis has longer arms giving him the advantage. Rudolph I can see going anywhere from the back end of the first to anywhere in the 2nd so it's not totally out of the realm of possibility for us to be able to grab him on a prayer with our third.
