Team expectations for 2011

Given our division and our managements attitude, my expectation is not very high for next year.I see us losing some talented players to free agency and a number 1 pick in a draft that really does not have a player worthy of the first pick. Thanks to Hurney and company we do not have a number 2 pick.Riveria may be the best coach in the world but I do not see us pulling out of the cellar of the NFC South. The only positive is we still have a shot for Luck but we will have to wait another year.I have heard all the "its only Clausens first year with a shitty OC and OL but given that he does not have a strong enough or accurate arm to have defenses shaking in their boots.

The only thing that would change my mind at this point is JR spending some money and get some playmakers.

Can we at least wait until free agency before we start making predictions? And if there is no free agency at least wait for the draft. How can you tell what we will do when we know nothing about how the roster will look next season. Did you think Kansas city had any chance of making the playoffs over San Diego this time last year??? Let's just relax and see what happens.

The point was more than a prediction. The point was given our needs at many positions if JR does not change his attitude torwards FAs it will take much less time to build a winning team as opposed to the draft.

What attitude are you referring too? Has he implied at any point that he wouldn't spend the money necessary to make the team better. If you want him to sign a bunch of aging vets to huge contracts then don't hold your breath...that's not how they do business and rightfully so.

Face the fact guys - we're going to be in last place in NFS South again. There's no way around it with everyone else enjoying their own frachise QB. We don't have one. Let's build up the D and O line and draft OUR QB next year. We have one more year of misery (at least) and I doubt there's any way around it.

I don't think we'll have worst record in the league so I doubt we get Luck next year but from what I'm hearing the QB draft class will be better next year.

Plus don't forget - we've all read that Panthers brass still have high hopes for Clausen. Hell I was scared we wouldn't draft Luck so I seriously doubt we draft a QB this year.

Fairley is our guy - almost guarantee.

    • This is one of my key concerns lost in the sauce that is the neverending conversation about him evading pressure and the OL. Eventually any QB is going to have to step up into the pocket and show the defense they can still beat them even if they get through. We have a limited QB who cannot consistently do this and as such we are relegated to going back and forth about how successful he was at evading pressure but we have little else to write home about. Tyler Shough stepped up into the pocket and made plays despite being pressured and sacked. He's played in about 35 less games than Bryce Young. That is a problem. And isn't just going to go away. The Bucs are going to do the same thing after watching the film.
    • Oh, absolutely! That doesn't absolve the absolute dogshit hockey that the team played in front of him, though. Only Cane that played well tonight was Bradly Nadeau.
    • Thanks for illustrating my point.  No one in the last several pages of this discussion is suggesting we should hang on to him, but anytime someone says anything less than "take him out back and shoot him" you act like they are. That's either you not understanding what you're reading or just being a nimrod because you can't keep up. (I would have said 'or just sh-tposting' but you're way too emotional on this topic for that) Either way, the result is the same 😆
