X-Men: First Class

The Saltman

This movie is going to BLOW. The people that make these X-Men movies have no idea what they are doing. How can Ema Frost be a grown woman in this movie that takes place in the 60s, yet she is a teen in the Wolverine movie, that takes place in the 80s. If Mystique is a teen in the 60s how is she in her 30s at best in X-Men 3 when she loses her powers? Havok is Cyclops's Younger brother. Neither of them should be born yet. Fox has really screwed this franchise. I cant wait for Marvel Studios to get it back, and do it right.

I dig having Havok in a movie (he was always such a wild card, anti-Cyclops which I loved), but also question the timeline being set... Does Marvel not have rights to this movie??

Yeah, I really liked Havok as well, but you cant put someone in a movie just to put him in the movie (Gambit in Wolverine). It has to make sense for them to be there.

Marvel sold the rights to many Characters, in the 90s, before they had there own production Studio. (X-Men, Spiderman, prob a few others I cant think of right now)

That is why Spiderman is being rebooted so fast. When Spiderman 4 fell through, the studio had to produce a Spiderman movie every certain # of years or they loose the franchise, and Sony did not want to loose that cash cow.

Before Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr took the names Professor X and Magneto, they were two young men discovering their sexuality for the first time. Before they were lovers, they were closest of friends, working together, with other Mutants (some familiar, some new), to stop the greatest threat their love has ever known. In the process, a bond between them formed, which began the eternal passion between Magneto and Professor X.

That's how gay this looks.

It doesn't look horrible.

i mean

moar liek xmen fist ass amirite

I really just am not thrilled about what seems to be either an xmen one shot movie or a reboot that didn't need rebooting. I thought the history was well established enough that they could have continued with an entirely new cast ala James Bond. I don't see the need for a reboot every time Toby Dunst decides he doesn't want to play Mary Parker anymore.

I'll still probably watch it. Bet its better than Thor, and I'm gonna watch that unfortunately. :|

    • We definitely overpaid but as long as he's not lined up at NT he's been a starter level player which is a major step in the right direction compared to last year's D-line.  Because of his contract he'll definitely be here next year, but I fully expect him to be a cap casualty next offseason.  We'd save 15M in cap space if we cut him in 2027. I don't think he sees year 3 of his deal. I'd be open to keeping him around in 2027 but his deal would have to be reworked to a substantially lower number.
    • Getting left out in favor of less-deserving Alabama is an honor bestowed upon a new team every year. Miami should take pride in back-to-back 10-win seasons for the first time in decades. As long as this doesn't cripple their program like it did FSU, they should be able to go for another one next year.  And, being someone who also likes to see Miami do well but knows its penchant for horribly timed losses, there's a great chance they don't find a way to beat UVa or Duke last night regardless of the matchup on paper.
    • Truth be told, I just like a 4-3 defense better and I'll just jump in with any chance to make that statement. Seemed like an opportune moment.
