2011 Mock Offseason & Draft ~ FREE AGENCY: DEFENSE

Wow you were serious about this? I was certain you were joking. I thought there was NO WAY you were going to do something as blatant as saying I can't bid on a player any more that you are conveniently bidding against me on because I went $1 over (I went back and couldn't figure how you thought I was over and then it hit me and I did the math, it was $1 over, not $4 like you were claiming) in a simple, first offense mistake. I already explained it was because I forgot about those special teams players that I haven't had to think about since opening day of FA. It's not like I was trying to cheat the system. And now I only have $20 cap space? I thought this was supposed to be all in good fun...w/e, guess I'll sit at the $4 or $5 spent I'm sitting at now, not like anyone here likes the Falcons anyway.

JawnyBlaze has outbid his cap space.

Will be permanently removed from bidding on your top FA (Mathias Kiwanuka) and $10 less cap space.

Falcons now have $20 spending money total.

Cap Space: At no time can your total outstanding bids be higher than the amount you have to spend! This is up to you and you only to keep track of. If you exceed your spending limit you will be penalized: permanently removed from bidding on one player and your total cap space reduced by $10.

Gotta read the rules homie

Guess so, missed that. Seems a bit excessive for an honest mistake by $1...

I mean invalidate the bid, sure, but pick the player the two of us were bidding on to say I can't bid on anymore and take 1/3 of my cap away? I see that it was in the rules to take away $10 and say I can't bid on a player (missed that, came into the game late...) but that seems excessive in any case. It was even a moot point minutes later when I was inevitably outbid on someone else...like I said, whatever..it's not real money or anything. I'll do what I can with $20, but I still think this rule that I missed is retarded.

Rules have been in pace for awhile now. Nothing I conveniently chose. I don't have time to keep track of every GMs cap space and go back and retroactively fix everything when you have 32 teams and people overbidding everywhere. It would be a total mess. It's important that people stay within their cap number.

BTW you were a full $7 over your cap space at one point, even counting HTD.

    • I'd hold on to Walker - we have no OT depth at all. Freeling is a block of clay - all the tools are there and he appears to have a great attitude. He needs serious work on his technique to realise his potential though.
    • From my watch last night: They weren't trading out of 19 unless it was a daft offer once Freeling got there. They were clearly antsy to get Hunter - and Minnesota actually called to offer the trade down. They weren't trading out of the third round pick once Brazzell fell to it (and Canales would have been happy with him in the second round). They traded back a lot on Day 3 - even if Morgan 'Babe Ruth'd' it with Lee, Hecht and Wheatley; they clearly weren't the only guys they would have taken at those picks. I'm curious to know which player caused the reaction at the start of day 2 (Dan Morgan): "of course they'd pick him"
    • Watching this confirms that this staff and front office is super high on Monroe Freeling. I wouldn't be surprised if he's gotta a real chance to win the starting LT job in camp. If he does, we can look to flip Rasheed Walker to a contender desperate for tackle help.   As for Ickey I still really like him and wanna extend him but based on how the staff was talking about Freeling it might be time for ickey to start taking some practice sets at guard if he wants to stay here as we are gonna have to have figure out a solution for the contracts of Lewis and Hunt.  My preferred scenario for the Oline in 2027 is Freeling-Ickey-Hech-Lewis-Moton.
