Panthers begin background work on Fairley

Apparently a nasty streak equates to a dirty player to some.

Go figure. Granted, I don't want him going all Haynesworth and cleet-stomping a dude, but playing nasty is a good thing (esp for a DT). It's energetic and prideful, and something we need to go along with the agressive approach RR wants to run. No more helping the opponent up after a play. Play with respect, but also hate the opponents guts until that whistle blows.

Can't find a single idea here I disagree with.

Yeah, definitely not dirty. Diving for the QB's knee and spearing him in the back 2 full seconds after a pass is just playing hard.

Not to mention it's 3rd and 8, we stop them, but then he decided to push some guy's head into the grass, picking up a personal foul, a 15 yeard penalty and giving our opponent a free first down.

That's my worries. I see a lot of the above with this guy.

The only one I saw as borderline dirty was the hit in the back. Who's to say he didn't know the ball was gone. As for the knee, Fairley was being drug down by an OL and trying to grab the QB at the calf.

The rest were okay in my book. He's aggresive...I like it. Again, the hit in the back was the only one I would remotely call dirty.

The helmet to knee was intentional. Watch again.

The ball is gone for two seconds before he hits the QB. If his vision is that bad, we should probably stay away, he'll be sacking refs and sitting on the wrong bench before you know it.

No comment on him bloodying the guys jaw with his facemask?

No way I think we can average at least 6 points per game.

Yeah I'm not happy about this at all. I can't believe so many are on board with this defensive movement when our most glaring need is so obviously offense in ALL areas, QB, O-line and WR.

Not to mention or defense is already pretty solid all the way around. We can find plugs for the few holes we need in the later round. We should be going for O with our 1st and 3rd round picks.

This is the most disheartening development for me over the past couple of weeks.

The only person on offense worthy of the number 1 pick is AJ green.

that is all.

So it should be easy then and we should just be interviewing third rounders. Unless this is all smoke and mirrors and trying to get some team to fall in love with one of these D guys we are talking to to help us trade down and pick up a 2nd round pick.

the one where he hit the QB in the knee was not a dirty play. He was driving aroudn the OL and was pulled down.

the worst and dirtiest play in the who youtube was what the Georgia OLineman did.....that was worse and more blatant than ANYTHING Fairley did.
