Jim Zorn fired in Baltimore

Mr. Scot

Recommended Posts

Zorn's release came after a seven-hour meeting with coach John Harbaugh and offensive coordinator Cam Cameron in which they questioned Joe Flacco's development this season, the source said. Zorn stayed with Harbaugh and Cameron at Ravens headquarters while the rest of the staff attended the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Ala.

In his only season as the Ravens quarterbacks coach, Zorn was known for his quirky drills. Compared to 2009, Flacco’s touchdowns (25) and quarterback rating (93.6) increased this year, his interceptions (10) decreased and his passing yards (3,622) remained essentially the same.

Gotta make you wonder what the real reason for his release was...

Maybe Flacco just isn't that good (Like TheRealDeal has been telling us) and they need someone to blame for it. Harbaugh isn't falling on that sword so it's obviously the Zorn's fault. I mean jeez, they brought in plenty of weapons for the guy and he just didn't do it.

Game Manager anyone?

    • He was a raw receiver.  NFL average for receivers to come into their own is 3 years.  There is no doubt he has been a disappointment.  No reason to ship him off on his rookie contract.  He has the ability- and he has made some fantastic catches.    Color me 1 that is more than willing to see what he does next season.  Isn't going to cost the team anything to do so.
    • PRO: Bad Bunny will have some fuego latinas dancing for him for entertainment    If not I riot
    • Is Ocho going to run routes for him and catch the ball too? Because that is the only way I can see this helping, but hey at least the dude is trying something because he just saw his stock drop heavily in yr2, from COKER balling in big spots and TMAC winning OROY hitting 1K in his 1st year in the NFL! (Oooooh that felt good typing!) I still think he may be a serviceable WR but honestly DM still needs to keep flooding the WR room with talent imo, so XL better try something and quick. Otherwise he will be another bust and washed out of league in 2-3 years.
