Agreed that the Hall Pass most certainly means she has something lined up for her, but I know couples that are married in name only and this wouldn't be a bad thing, and in fact might even be a good thing. You see it in movies sometimes. Being with someone else and seeing their quirks sometimes makes you miss what you had all along.

A few years into my marriage, my ex-wife actually did, but not just for a week.

She told me that if I wanted to have an affair, she could live with it as long as I told her ahead of time and didn't lie to her about it.

I said "no".

May or may not have been intended as a trap. Didn't really matter to me, honestly. Regardless of whether she was okay with me cheating on her, I wasn't okay with it.

Movies are based on SOMEthing, you know. A lot of the relationship scenarios played out in movies were experienced by somebody. Then they wrote about it and it became a screenplay. Then they found better looking people to play themselves in the movies.

But if you don't believe me, just look up your local swinger's club. There are a lot of people out there. I hear their stories at work all the time.

As Skew intimated, a Hall Pass is simply a woman's way of saying "I feel guilty because I've been banging the cute guy from the office and I'd like something to take the heat off me but if you do actually take me up on the offer I'll bring it up in any disagreement we ever have while at the same time using the event to help paper over my guilt for the affair I'll never tell you about till the divorce is final."

i couldn't do it. no way jose. the way things work, i have had 4 women, 3 of which are gorgeous, approach me to hook up within the last year.

now, if the hall pass came to be, i gurantee those same 3 would not give me the time of day. in fact, had i been single, i STILL think they wouldn't because of the opposite factor.

just the way my karma works. which, being married to my beautiful wife, is fine by me.
