Jamarcus was a super nova when he was drafted.....

Just a couple of many scouting reports for the Walrus that said he was a sure fire cant miss QB that would be at the pro bowl level quickly....

If we can't get our defense off the field it doesn't matter how good our personnel is we won't be successful.

The last draft that had three first round QB's with a lot of question the first three QB's taken were Eli Manning, Philip Rivers, and Ben Roethlisberger.

Eli was on pretty solid footing bc he did so well at his workout and had high intangibles. he wasn't rated that high until after those workouts and interviews.

Philip Rivers had serious questions about his mechanics and arm strength (he still throws the ball funky), and Ben Roethlisberger came from a spread offense, played in a weak conference, and never took snaps from under center.

That draft turned out pretty well.

I'm not saying that is how these guys will turn out the same as these three but there are always questions and you never really know how it is going to turn out.

Again the upside is too high IMO.

It's already been said but...

This is a win-win for us. Either Cam will open some eyes in the FO & with the right coaching will get us a great QB, or he'll open some eyes in other FOs & they'll be willing to trade up. Who knows? Maybe someone will fall ass over tea kettle for him & offer us a Walker-like trade.

and once again the only reason you compare the two is because they are the same color.

that's not true, ffs. people compare the two because russell was the most recent superbust. like, huge bust. Not just small bust, not just bust (Carr) or disappointment (Clausen), but astronomically huge mistake.

it has nothing to do with russell's skin color. it's the fact he had "all the measurables," was being billed as super human in potential and he went kaboom once he got in the league.

before russell, leaf was used to illustrate this - and often still is, when the issue is character questions and not "omg he has amazing physical skills how could we go wrong"

People have compared Gabbert to Russell, too. tell me... if both gabbert and newton are being compared to him, why is it only because of skin color?

    • I'm gonna go ahead and assume Walker is out. So, I'll go Niki.
    • I wouldn't be mad if we were losing by 1 or 2 and the games were hard hitting tightly contested games. I'd be frustrated and upset about losing, but I wouldn't be mad.    Right now I'm pissed, Rod's decision making, his system of play, the consistent bad results in the conference finals. Then the team comes out at home and gets plastered 10-2 in the first two games... Yeah I'm mad at the results on the ice
    • Man it’s not even about losing to the Panthers again, it’s how they are losing that makes me think a coaching change is needed. Florida is physical, got into the player’s heads, and it’s the coach’s job to get his players ready to play. Brindamour has failed miserably in the Conference Championship 3 times now. The Hurricanes look like they don’t even belong in the playoffs let alone in the conference championship game. If these games were close like in 2023 we’d be frustrated but not embarrassed and that’s the difference in a coach keeping or losing their job.
