Jake Delhomme to be released...again.

I'm torn whether to bring him in as a backup or not. Jake HAS TO know his days as a starter are over. I'm thinking Clausen, FA competing with Clausen...say Kyle Boller, and Jake solidly #3. That wouldn't too bad. I think Moore is gone and Pike can go to the PS...he's still eligable.

I'd take that going into opening day.

y would they need to sign him to a contract he is already under rofl.

Under the no cap rule this year, didn't cutting Jake purge the entire balance of his contract? Wasn't that the 'appeal' of cutting big money players this season? It was something to that effect.

Jake was a fine QB until that elbow injury. Anyone that doubt's how that injury can effect the arm need's to check it out. He did play well enough in 2008 to help win the NFC south title. Yes I know about the Arizona game, watched every painful moment. I'd say at that point in the 08 run Jake's arm was in bad shape, he never got the zip back he once had. Jake was the QB for the greatest moment's in team history, that's the Jake I will remember, you know the one who threw a 85 yard TD pass to Moose in SBXXXVIII.

Like everyone has said, Hope he signs for a day and retires a panther.

may sound weird but he is my all time favorite player

Not weird at all. Same here. He was our guy and our first true franchise QB. Made me sick how the majority of the fan base turned their backs against him when he got cut.

Every player gets old and their skills diminish. No reason to treat them with so much disrespect.

Tommy John did nothing to do with Jakes downfall. Antrel Rolle, Rod Hood and Adrian Wilson, however....
