I like Holt but, one, he is too old and two, he will cost more than what we are willing to pay him.

This is one of the biggest bitches I got about our team. Jarrett seemed to come up with some pretty big catches WHEN HE WAS ACTIVE. I could see how a guy can get demotivated when each week he is on the NON-ACTIVE list. Does anyone know how many games he was inactive?

I think it is time to move Moose in the Slot and let Jarrett take the No. 2 spot.

I say stick with Jarrett. Light is very likely to come on in his third year. He flashed signs last year.

Considering he made a play every game he was actually active I would have to agree with you. He needs to be our consistent third and Hackett our fourth, Hackett has skills he just needs to stay healthy. We still have the opportunity to have a nasty Wide receiving corps.

I agree with what most of you guys said. Holt is just past his prime. He'll fill a need on another team in the NFL, definitely. But the Panthers are getting to where they need a young guy to develop. We can't keep putting money into old guys (Keyshawn Johnson, Moose, etc). Moose came through for us in a big way this year, but that's because the guy knew the Panthers offense and had a good rapport with Jake.

Time to hope the Jarrett takes the reigns or we pick up a young guy that'll develop via free agency or a mid-draft pick.

Holt would be nothing more than a 3rd WR on a team that doesn't throw the ball much (and for good reason considering our QB situtation). But I do agree, Holt would be useless b/c Jake would still try to force the ball to Smith in double/triple coverage.

I think they will release Hackett and I don't see them going for Holt (unless he gives a hometown discount). I like Smith, Moose, and Jarrett as top 3. You throw in Carter who they and everyone else was high on until he was injured and you have a solid group.

I would however like to see them pick up someone either in the draft or thru FA who could stretch the field. Smith is basically the only one we have who scares anyone deep.

that would be great if we got holt.we already got the best reciver in the nfl steve smith.we also got another great reciver in moose.but adding holt as well would easyily give the panthers the best receiveing team in the game.holt is easyily in the top 10 best wrs and to me smith is the best wr and moose is top 20 so carolina would have the best wr tandrom in the nfl.
