lol.

Yeah, that's it. I so mudd

We will end up trading down and bringing in a Veteran/Stop Gap QB until we can ether develop Clausen or find someone who can be a franchise QB for years to come. To think Newton is that guy is laughable. He would be a project that wouldn't make an impact for an estimated 3 years, and if we throw him into the system immediately then he will be David Carred, just like Clausen was. We need to look at guys like Volek to come in and navigate the "look alike chargers offense".

Trading down for who? This team needs a Quarterback in the worst way possible.

Not some Note in a Bottle dream that we're getting the Quarterback of our dreams in another year.

I'm all for getting a Stop-Gap QB, and still developing Jimmy, but praying that Jimmy becomes Alex Smith or an Aaron Rodgers is the same retarded process that has already delayed the growth of this franchise for another 2-years.

Carolina needs its new franchise QB NOW. Not tomorrow.

why do u say it will take 3 years to develop newton he is the size of a LB is as althletic as a qb can be besides vick and can throw as good as anyone in the upcoming draft

Not taking a side here, but his size and being athletic won't speed up his development. Still gonna take time to develop into a NFL QB.

Unless another team really wants him, Clausen will be on this team.

If we draft a QB, expect the camp battle to be Clausen, Rookie, and a FA... maybe a second cheap one that knows he might get cut... and probably head into the season with Clausen, Rookie and a vet FA unless Clausen surprises people either by being below a point it is even worth keeping him or by winning his job.

That being said, I don't expect them to draft a QB. I think the Panthers still like the young talent they have at QB, even if they know now they can't rely on it (aka, they will bring in at least 1 veteran, and maybe 2). Unlike others, I don't say "let Clausen sit for a year and test him", though. Let him try to win the job. If he can't, be ready to move on without him next draft, though obviously he'd probably still get a chance in camp to beat out a veteran for a spot.

Incase you haven't noticed, this years QB draft class is garbage. To think overwise is ignorant.

If the vast majority of scouts and GMs thought Cam could enter right off the bat and play at a high level immediately, he would be rated much higher than he is. The reason there is so much debate about him is precisely because not everyone expects him to transition fast or at all.
