"No Progress Towards New Contract with Gross"

If Hurney screws this up he should be gone no questions asked...we have to have Gross. You can't just let your two best linemen walk when your goal is to "win in the trenches." That is absolute BS...He better get something done after giving Gamble a contract worth 50 million bucks...

I'm honestly gettin a little worried as well. Who knows what agents were whispering to him at the Pro Bowl.

I'm worried that Hurney has laid out the fat offer, but that Gross is going to look elsewhere.

If the Panthers just aren't giving out the money, they need to be slapped. Give the damn man his money and sign him for 3 or more years. Offensive linemen like him just don't come around often.

Gross is just turning the screws. This is a high-stakes poker game and he has all of the cards in his hand, knowing that the Panthers must franchise Peppers. He is in the wait and see mode until the Pep situation plays out.

If that is the case, that's even more worrying, considering that the Panthers most likely want to get Gross' deal done before they use the franchise tag on Peppers.

We had a big three to keep.

He signed one, who wanted to stay.

He is going to lose one that doesn't

He is trying to keep the one who will stay if he is paid.

Short of putting a gun to Gross's head what exactly do you want the guy to do ?

If anything Hurney is an underrated GM.

I wonder if Hurney wants Gross at any price? Bottom line is that if he didn't care about the price or felt he had to sign him no matter what it would already have been done. I expect we will franchise Peppers no matter what because we can get good picks for him. If we sign Gross then it will be because we really want him. If we don't do everything to sign him and we don't franchise him we may want him if the price is right but not at all costs. The next 10 days should be very interesting.

    • Oh I was.  But we still had great players.
    • You keep AT unless he WANTS to get traded to a contender during the season.  He's valuable, TET, XL, and Coker need to learn how to be PROFESSIONALS on game day, practice, and the off-season.  That's what you get from AT.  ADDITIONALLY, he is clutch.  He is steady.  At is that savvy vet who will always flash. I really think they keep 7 WR's if Brycen can operate on special teams.  Week 1 you may see us heavy on WR and OL because of the massive amount of injuries across the league.  Renfrow may even be cool starting on the PS since he lives close and wouldn't need to uproot his family.  You can still make nearly 400K as a vested veteran on an NFL practice squad.  You see more veterans hanging around since the age limit was lifted. I think the 1st 53 and PS looks like so...... Offense: (25) QB (2) Young / Dalton RB (3) Chuba/Rico/Etienee WR (7) T-Mac/XL/AT/Coaker/Renfrow/JHjr/Brycen TE (3) Tremble/Sanders/Evans OL (10) Icky/Lewis/Corbett/Hunt/Moten/Brady/Mayes/Yosh/Zavala/Kingston Defense: (25) DL: (6) Brown/Robinson/Turk/Bobby B/Cam Jackson/Sam Roberts OLB: (5) Wonnom/PJ2/NicSic/Princely/Incoon ILB: (5) Rozeboom/TW/Windmon/Cherelus/Bam CB: (5) Horn/MJ/CSW/Thorton/Evans S: (4) Tre'Mo/Ransom/Demani/Scott Specialists: (3) JJ/Fitz/Martin Last spot: Right now I have it as a toss up between DJ Johnson and Bam.  Until NicSic can come back we need an extra edge.  Do we utilize TW more as a blitzer from the middle to keep Bam safe?  I'm not worried about DJJ getting picked up from another team, a little more concerned with Bam. Practice Squad: DavidMoore/JamesMitchell/JacolbyGeorge/Tuttle/Crumdley/Ray/DJJohnson/Kantra/Carter/Blacksheer/ Wright/KrysBarnes/MichaelReid/Safety pick up/RB pick up/QB pick up
