The NFL's daily transaction report shows that the Panthers have claimed cornerback M.J. Devonshire off of waivers. Devonshire was cut by the Raiders over the weekend. Devonshire was a seventh-round pick last season.4 mins ago

Was projected to go i the 5th. 6'6" wingspan, a lot of starting experience at Pitt, solid return guy, not too shabby. With the status of our CB room, he has as good a shot as any to creep onto the team. His biggest issue was likely getting drafted by the raiders, bless his heart.

Maybe we should have just drafted a corner?  Crazy, I know.  One of the few positions we knew had to be addressed in the draft and nadda.

I disagree with the "had" part.

Horn, Jackson, and CSW- That's a good group. They cut the vet NB troy hill cause CSW was ready to take over. Im not going to defend Horns injury history, just he played in 15-16 games and Jackson played every defense snap.

Then you got Akayleb Evans, who started 16 games in 2023.

Shemar Bartholomew the guy who 6 teams tried to claim and stayed on the roster for the entire year. He's not scared to tackle.

Both of these guys are long and tall. Barth started for horn, I thought he did good enough.

They just gave a 100,000 guarantee to UDFA CB Evans, so keep a eye on him.

CB along LB, always seem to get talented names cut. There's still time and ways to improve the depth.

Just need to remain healthy.....

    • I think we are looking at the same stats, I think you just have pro-Bryce goggles on.  That seems to be pretty clear by the post history, anyway.  Not really sure how or why anyone would still be in that camp, but carry on.
    • I would argue their play during their respective seasons was elite, and they elevated those around them.  Regardless of what they became after that moment.
    • Right team, wrong year and player. Since the 2003 season, there are only 2 SB winning QB's who won't end up in the HOF (Hurts not included as I think that's still up in the air), would be Flacco and Foles. The next worst QB to win in that time frame would be Eli, followed by Wilson, and then Big Ben. The other SB winning QB's since then... Brady, Mahomes, Stafford, Peyton, Rodgers, Brees... basically some of the best to ever play the game and Stafford, a surefire HOFer after winning his SB. You have to go back to the 2002 season to find a truly average QB to have won the SB with Brad Johnson and then 2 years before that with Dilfer.  Before that, you have to go all the way back to the 1991 season when the Redskins won, everyone else between there are HOFers.
