Will be interesting to see how the Caps adjust. They were thoroughly beaten in this game despite it going to OT and they knew it by getting chippy. If they lose game 2 they’re in a hole they might not be able to dig themselves out of. They played old and tired tonight and I think they might get swept.

I'm not sure they can adjust.... the Canes team speed and forecheck just overwhelmed them.... This was on the road were the canes have had trouble establishing the forecheck in past playoffs.....

In Raleigh we're we line match.... yeah this series the canes are taking.

If we take game 2 I think the brooms come out.

Taking game 2 will be a challenge, you know Caps will bring thir best. Canes hit the iron 5 times in game 1 yet won, if they bring the same mojo for game 2 pucks will go in for a Canes win.

Although we dont have as much "firepower" as year past this Canes team has somthing we didn't have in years past which is size in the lower 6 that gives us two legit checking lines....

In years past we only had the Staal line and on the road we would hemorrhage chances because we couldn't match them up like at home..   I firmly believe our poor regular season road woes were due to who we had in goal...

19 road losses with a combination of Kochetkov,Tokarski and Martin in net..

3 with Anderson (all coming at the end of the year when let's be honest we weren't trying to win)

We even have more size on the first two lines because of how Rod is playing them right now.

Svechnikov is on line 1 with Aho and Blake

Hall and KK on line 2 with Tankoven

The MSJ line

Forth line with Robinson, Jankowski and Carrier.

They've got size on all 4 lines and it showed last night for sure.

I more or less meant "top 6 players" not were they were playing but yeah the size and physically paid dividends.

This might be my favorite quote from game 1.

"the Hurricanes seem to have it for stretches long enough that you could get up out of your seat, wait in line for popcorn, hit the restroom and get back to the stands — and not miss a Capitals appearance in the offensive zone."

Washington post

Who gets food then goes to the bathroom with it.  Washington journalists a bunch of psychopaths.

    • You keep arguing what no one else is arguing against or even care about. Yards per game is a quantity stat that has more to do with the scheme you run and not the quality of your quarterback. There are  many better quality stats which do distinguish quarterbacks many of which are highlighted by PFF where he was top 10. When you make these kind of statements I wonder if you are just being argumentative or do you really not know better.....
    • It's obvious that a light switched on since returning from being benched. He is trending in a very positive direction. That's all we should hope for from a 2nd year QB. His performance at the end of last season should inspire hope from the fan base. Hopefully the rest of the team is improved enough to take advantage of his rookie contract. But, that is depending on a lot of really young and new players. Dan is planning long term, but hoping to catch lightening in a bottle with a couple of younger vets on the edge of breaking out. No one knows what will happen. You can choose to be optimistic, or you can choose to crap on everything, all the time.
    • that reads like a funny way to try and pump him up.  At the end of the day Bryce averaged 208 yards per game with a 61% completion since week 9.  If you guys want to argue he was a top 5 qb during that time, sure man go for but the stats are the stats.
