Surprise! Kon looks really bad!

You would think simple nuance with Salaun's progression after months of whailing about him being a bust would give folks a little perspective to maybe let Kon play a few games before flailing about him being a bust. But nope. Game 1 of summer league his career is over.

Didn’t say that at all.  But he objectively doesn’t look good.  Some guys adjustment to SL the first few games takes a lot longer than others.  I remember Trae Young looked like complete ass for almost the entirety of it….  It Kon already doesn’t have great tools.  If you’re watching, they’re even trying to run plays for him and he just can’t get open.

also, Salaun may not have looked refined, because he wasn’t, but physically you could put him out there and know he could play.  Kon is not very athletic and doesn’t have a great frame - both of which Salaun already had, Salaun just needed to develop the fundamentals and refine his raw ability.   Kon is relying mostly on his fundamentals.

Asswhole, he literally has done none of that.  Dumb

Nice.

last I heard them say he was 0-5 and then jumped in the air to shoot and threw a turnover when it was contested.  Everything I said is what he has done so far.  Not saying it’s the end all, be all, but he objectively doesn’t look good.

I think you're just digging in because you didn't like the pick. I mean you could end up being right we all know the history of the Hornets drafting. But I think you're a little too gleeful with the issue brother. Let's give him some time and revisit.

It’s not so much the pick, although admittedly I didn’t like it - but, it’s more the history of our franchise.  I was salty about getting screwed in the lottery, and then it feels like it was a pick we just settled for.  But, just like with the Panthers’ picks, even if I don’t like it, I’m still gonna pull for them because our success depends on it.  But im also going to point out the good and the bad.

    • The good news is that we are pretty uniquely well established to address all of our needs this season. We have $14m real cap space, and something like $40m in trade deadline cap space. Not sure exactly how that works out. But, we have the room to absorb any bad contracts. With recent rule changes regarding retention, that went into effect this season, we now have a huge advantage in the trade market.  On top of that, while we do have obvious needs, we also have a glut of talent in certain areas that we struggle to find ice time for. We are over-stocked on scrappy talented lil-guys, strong defensively sound 3rd liners and shutdown left shot dmen. Whether it's a package or separate deals, idk. But, one of each from Stank/Blake/Nads, Erob/Carrier/KK/Jank, and Walker/Nystrom; throw in some 1st round picks (and frankly any other prospects they want) and we should be able to come out with a 1b to pair with Bussi and either a 2c with size or a 2c and size.   TL/DR We got the money, you got the stuff?
    • I don’t  think 6’4 was ever considered small or undersized. Baby hands tho, yes that was his thing That’s an interesting idea, like an optical illusion? Sounds like you have personal experience with this!
    • in the 25' draft the Carolina Panthers had hired Brandt Tillis someone who actually understood how to build a successful team & build through the draft .  this team was yes mismanaged for years prior to Brandt Tillis joining the team in 25' & rarely done anything right in the draft outside occaionaly getting lucky on an UDFA such as Jalen Coker who's dad coincidentally happened to be a huge Carolina Panthers fan, hint hint  ...just saying
