I think Sellers would be best served by transferring to a school that will better prepare him for the NFL.

That SCar thought that Mike Shula was the answer kinda says everything that needs to be said. That he took a Heisman hopeful and presumed top 10 draft pick and made him look like a guy that might not be draftable really shows how damn good Cam Newton was. Both Chud and Shula washed out immediately as soon as they could no longer lean on Cam to carry their offenses.

Yeah, the greatest of Cam really has been some of the players and coaches he was able to elevate around him.

Massively under appreciated component of Cam's legacy.

All those receivers that Cam was "holding back" accomplished a whole lot of jack poo without him too. KB blamed Cam for his failures and there were people who legit thought Funchess was gonna blossom with a "real QB". The only guy who played decently without him was Ginn with HOFer Brees throwing to him.

Not even debatable IMO. Tons of talent but I'm honestly not sure either are NFL QBs. Both might should just cash as many NIL checks as they can.

Heck, Sellars was turning down reportedly 8 million dollar checks last season.  He better go take a good one this year at a better school

And even Ginn arguably had his best season with Cam.

Even his per game averages are the highest in Carolina for his entire career.

We rarely had WR's play better without Cam. LaFell was the only one I can think of but a lot of that was him have a bigger offensive role in NE and Cincy.

If he was a really finished product, I would understand not wanting to go elsewhere. I respect the hell out of the loyalty but if you want to be as prepared as possible for the NFL and especially have designs on the 2027 NFL Draft, I would find a better development spot in free agency this offseason.

I respect the guy for staying put in this portal era but an NFL future isn't guaranteed for anyone and everyone on the field is a major injury away from having their football future ended. Hell, Marcus Lattimore at SCar is a perfect example of that. He looked like he might be the next Adrian Peteraon before he got his knee absolutely shredded. The moral of the story is that if someone is waving millions at you, cash that check.

It's crazy that Brandon LaFell is still our 6th leading all-time WR. Once you get past #3 on that list (DJ Moore) it really is just a pathetically sad thing to look at.

The list of 1st and 2nd round bust WR's is far, far longer than our elite WR's.

I hope we finally break that streak with TMac. The bones are there....but they were with Benjamin too. Fingers crossed.

Yeah, I think T-Mac is gonna be fine. I think KB would've been for awhile too had it not been for that double whammy if tearing his ACL and losing his mom at basically the same time. That's a lit to deal with, especially when you're already not exactly the most diligent worker in the locker room.

Yep, Pavia is basically the SEC's Haynes King. Damn good college QBs but not sure either will ever make an NFL roster.

Pavia has something somewhat near NFL average arm strength but Haynes King has a very, very, VERY subpar arm for an NFL guy.

He would be best served finding another position to play in the NFL.

I don't think he's a good enough athlete to switch positions in the NFL. Just a good college QB who doesn't translate to the NFL.

    • I would say that seems like an odd comment from Morgan, but at the same time it's almost impossible to find a college QB declaring for the draft to have less physical ability than BY so you can assume almost anyone you bring in would be your go to QB sneak/designed run guy.
    • Gronk is the best TE of all time, but he also played with Brady. Clarke was great, but had Peyton and in an era TE's didn't make crazy money. Kittle is great, but the two times he's made the SB, he was still on his rookie contract for one, and the other the 49ers had Purdy on a cheap rookie deal which help them build the rest of the roster. So again, it's not about not wanting an elite TE, of course it would be nice.  But realistically, in today's NFL, unless that elite TE with a top end TE salary is on a team with a GOAT level QB and/or other serious cap savings (i.e. key players on rookie deals), then I think it's not a good use of cap space.
    • This place was the poo pre tepper with tons of hilarious posters like phillyB. Joined in the 2000s during the 07 season and have been here bitching about this team since. but yeah its sadly been dying a slow death, every time I come to this site I am surprised its still up. I think the 2015 season was the absolute peak, the Panthers and this board especially just haven't "felt" the same since then. Igo should really sell the board since he clearly doesn't care anymore. Also, Reddit blows and the Bryce defenders on there need Jesus.
