I didnt write this but I think it’s the right read on rhule

Rhule’s conference win percentage at Nebraska is like 40%, that’s a far cry from almost always winning.

I don’t think Rhule was anyone’s first choice. LSU and PSU just fired guys who are better versions of what Rhule is supposed to be, a “program builder.” The dollar store version isn’t going to be appealing. Florida probably needs someone like that but they’d be much better off with Franklin.

Then a tier down you’ve got schools that have comparable of fewer resources than Nebraska and they wouldn’t target him because why would he leave Nebraska to go somewhere that’s in worse shape than Nebraska?

If he can actually do something at Nebraska maybe he will be a hot commodity again but he’s six years removed from being a guy anyone’s getting excited about hiring.

The only thing Rhule has proven at this point is that he can drag a program out of the gutter and get them back to a decent level of respectability and competitiveness. What he has definitely not shown yet is that he can beat good teams. I don't mean consistently, I mean literally at all. LOL

Not that I'm aware of.

Rhule beat Cincinnati to open the season, and they are ranked 17th currently.  But even a "down" Nebraska team should beat a "good" Cincinnati team based on talent / recruits alone. Cincinnati is feasting on a very weak pre-conference and Big 12 schedule for 7 wins in a row after losing to Nebraska.

Rhule's extension is Nebraska knowing they won't get anyone better than him, and Rhule knowing Penn State is not going to hire him because he isn't the splash he was 7 years ago, which was unwarranted then and even more so now.

Halloween game for Carolina tonight.  Syracuse starting a kid that didn't take a snap in the offseason practices.  There is a good chance we watch Filardi and Lopez try to outdo one another with who sucks more and can throw a game away.

Still reminiscing on the Halloween game against #2 Miami like 20 years ago when the Heels won on a last second field goal.

We are watching the Gasparilla, Pop Tarts, and Pinstripe Bowls slip right through our fingers.

The fuged up thing is that we suck but we should honestly be 4-3 with the arrow pointing up. We should've won our last two games and now we're machine gun shooting ourselves in the dick again tonight. It's unreal.

Can't bring myself to watch UNC football tonight. Not when it's Game 6 of Blue Jays-Dodgers.

Watch both.  TVs are like $75 now, no reason to not have 5 or 6 of them going for Saturday, Sunday and the occasional weeknight when multiple things are on.

And that's how you admit to a gambling problem without admitting to a gambling problem.

I was thinking the same thing pre-game.  Defense is continuing to look decent, but as we know with Bryce in our pro vice, you can't offset small / lack of skill set at the QB position (Gio).

    • I honestly feel bad for Willis. I mean, good that he got a decent (NFL QB speaking) payday and will be set for life, but in terms of actually competing and providing he's a legit starter? The Dolphins are gonna carry $175M in dead cap this year and they have an out in Willis' contract after the 2027 season. This seems like the most obvious tank job in history with Willis signed as cover for it.
    • I was scrolling X (Twitter) and I came across this clip....If I shows up here I'd be shocked.  Anyway it was supposed to highlight the blocking ability of Antonio Williams.  All I noticed is how well Blake Miller moved on pulls and in space.  I'm thinking it should be Miller Time in Carolina. I think with half a season of coaching that either Miller or Iheanachor could end up at LT, specifically Iheanachor with his footwork and those super long arms.  He's raw, but that could be a good thing with those natural athletic gifts.   https://x.com/NFL_DF/status/2033992963659796861?s=20
    • I am using Kelce more as an example of what people think you get with a 1st round TE.    3 f the top 4 yardage guys of all time are 1st rounders. I think. But realize these would be the guys with super long careers, and/or top QBs throwing to them. We don’t have a top QB.    And there have been Plenty of first round disappointments too. More of them than the all time leaders for sure.    We were treating Bryce as the ultimate ‘don’t fug it up’ game manager in order to get a few of those 8 wins. And to stay close in some losses.   1st round picks, starting in 2023 that have been used on a WR or on the QB? 2023 1 (qb) 2024 2 (1 & 32) (qb, wr) 2025 1 (wr) When does it stop?
