People just couldn't wait to move on from Ron/Hurney....

when exactly are the good ol days?

There was nothing wrong with moving on with Ron and Marty. But who knew Tepper would hold a limbo contest and see just how low under that bar we could go. So he held tryouts.

You never know what you got until it’s gone. We did move too quick in tearing everything down in 2018/2019.

Sadly, I don’t see the light at the end of the tunnel when it comes to this organization. A lot more losing.

Despite what reports say, I still think Tepper is influencing football decisions.  We certainly heard about this during the Reich short era...ie - the Monday morning meetings.  There are too many consistent inconsistencies still going on to not think he is still too much involved.  New coaches, new GMs....same results.  The offense looks the same under Canales as it did under Rhule, Brown and Reich. The only time the offense has looked different was when Wilkes moved to a power run game for 6-7 games.  But it was clear Wilkes would not have wanted BY....probably a big reason why he was not retained.

The defense was actually better under Snow but he had better players and it was not a great defense.  But the defense has gotten much worse as they lost key players (Luvu, Chinn, Burns & etc) but did not replace them with even average talent.  The defense was never really strong since the 3-4 defense was pushed on Rivera by Tepper.

I think Tepper pushed for BY too.  Now Canales is stuck with a QB that does not fit his system.  The last 7-years of Panthers football can be traced back to when Tepper bought the team.

The thing that tells me this is the QB room. It is like he made a deal with Morgan and Canales that Bryce was to be given whatever it takes to succeed. Every decision had him at the center of it. That is why Brooks (his pass catching was suppposed to be best in the RB class). Obviously the heavy focus on upgrading the offensive personnel was part of it.
And the lameness of the 3rd QB, bringing back Bryce’s service ginger. That was all dictated if you ask me.

And that, is all negotiated by at the top and allows Tepper to look like he took the big step back during the draft and in season, for those concerned about that.
The same type of deal as the 3-4, that is a condition of employment.
