I'd admire Canales' coaching if the rest of the team, ANY of the rest of the team, appeared prepared and ready to play in games.

We look like a bunch of people who didn't do their homework being called to the chalk board to explain a math problem.

Was trying to figure out if we had any players left on the team today who were part of a winning season for the Panthers. Only one guy left I believe -- JJ Jansen. It has been a long time.

I mean I don't entirely agree with this. Our first drives - where prep is the most clear - are usually good. And we frequently get to mid field. But once the field tightens and the offense has to operate in tighter windows, we can't get passed completed and opponents can defend our run and pass game by just stacking people near the LoS ... I don't know ... Last year we had effectiveness at intermediate depth throws we're not having this year.

Part of it is that Canales can create a good series of plays at his desk or around a work table and then get them onto the practice field and then the playing field. That's good.

But then, the script runs out and there he is on the frikkin' sidelines trying to manage an entire team while keeping an eye on the game, personnel, the refs, field position, the clock and who is and isn't available for the next play AND THEN HE HAS TO DECIDE WHAT PLAY TO CALL NEXT.

I'm sorry, he just isn't far enough into his career to be able to handle all of that. Let an OC up in the skybox with the all-22 field view, communicating with his assistants, make the call based on what he sees. And Canales should be out there managing the whole team, creating to tone and let his folks do the work he hired them to do.
