First time for him and a long time for us.  Makes me proud of this very young group of guys.  We have the toughest schedule of any team for the rest of year.  Guess we will find out if we a play off caliber team in a hurry Starting with CMC on Monday Football.  Go Panthers!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just want to add that this is invaluable experience they are getting.

It often takes more than one try. Whether or not they succeed this time, they will have it to draw from next time. So it is a positive however it turns out this one time.

That's pretty awesome, tbh.

Good to see recognition for the success of last week. Now is the first of many major tests. I hope he and the rest of the offense continue to ball out - more fun this way, lol

Yep. I get that such things are ultimately meaningless, but it's still cool to know some of our players are having sufficient success to gain recognition.

They may be meaningless in the sense of wins and losses but this team isn't yet at a place where that is honestly all that matters

It's full of young players that need to make progress for us to compete consistently and this (multiple players in a year getting it) is evidence that's starting to happen.

    • Btw... only Mitch fugging Marner has a better +/- than Key 🔑!!! And, Mitchy needed 5 more games and almost 100 more shifts to get there.
    • I was honestly flabbergasted to see Rod send out Stanky and the boys to to matchup against their top line to start the game. The reason that line has been so effective is because they've been matched mostly against 2nd and 3rd lines all year. You've got last change. Use it to your advantage.
    • Nobody played well on defense last night. But, the vitriol towards Chatfield (and to a lesser extent, K'andre) is bigly misplaced. People (not just you) just refuse to accept how bad Slavin has been this season. And, I get it. Canes fans (and informed analysts) have spent nearly a decade trying to explain to casuals just how good Jaccccob is at hockey. 4Nations happened and the hockey watching public started to listen. National media even started floating the idea of creating a new award in his honor. Then this season, he gets hurt. It happens. NBD. But, when he finally came back, it wasn't the same. He'll get back to his old self in no time. Probably just some rust, it'll be fine. Only, it wasnt rust, and he's not fine. He's bad right now. It wasnt just last night. Although, that was absolutely the worst game of his NHL career. Slavin (-4) currently has the 3rd worst +/- of anyone left in the playoffs. We've  been begging the world to recognize Jaccob Slavin's greatness. And, by the time we finally got people to listen, he shits the bed! I blame Kash!
