Just the yearly reminder to turn our focus to the hurricanes since the Panthers still suck

Offense is not good and often easy to shut down, but there's been more days where it was functional than the defense, which REALLY needs to get called out more here as well. This is a historically bad pass rush. Say all you want about spending on OL (good teams do this), but Christ, there's just nothing there in terms of pass rush. Other teams' backups just flatten our guys on both sides of the ball too often.

We were 23rd in yardage and 28th in points going into today's game. We might fall in those after today. We were 17th in yards allowed and 16th in points allowed going into today's game. The D is roughly league average. The offense is well below it.

We have definitely lucked out big time in close games this year. Definitely something that isn't repeatable future seasons

That's what my Giants fan buddy and I have talked about. Really the only difference between us this year that they've largely lost the close games and we've largely won them.

And that they have a franchise QB while we have a QB that could double as an oompa loompa in a willy Wonka movie...

That Bussi save in the shootout tonight was pure boss move. If you can’t get excited when a goalie saves a puck from going in by his toenail. Then there is no help for you. If the Panthers keep this pathetic embarrassment of a franchise record going, hurricanes will surpass them in fandom in the Carolina’s

Honestly arguable the Canes already have. Guarantee you this loss to the saints killed half our fanbase

Yeah, that too. I'm not sure how Dart will pan out in the long run and he's gonna have to start being smarter about taking these unnecessary hits if he's gonna last long-term but yeah, I'd trade Bryce for him with no hesitation.

Fair, but I think they are more electric now than even our 2015  superbowl panthers year

Nah I've been to both many times. I'm a big Canes fan as well. Nothing topped the Panthers in the 2015 playoffs. I mean, 2006 for the Hurricanes probably was right there with it, but I was in school. Canes games are fun as hell (and stressful).

    • Taking only players from the sheet that are realistically available in or after the listed round, I’d like… 1st: DT Caleb Banks (Styles not realistic) 2nd: LB Jacob Rodriguez 3rd: OT Best available from Bowry, Barber, and Casey 4th: CB Daylen Everette 5th: S Jalen Huskey 6th: RB Adam Randall 7th: IOL Best available from Lemieux, Dawkins, Leausa, and Brose   I know nothing about some of the players listed, but it seems like that would be the best way it could fall for now. I’m sure the list of who we meet will change a ton, and there will also be players we don’t meet with to keep quiet. I’d love to pick up Randall in the late rounds.
    • Not what I said. They know within the building why we aren't utilizing TEs more. If the rumors were true that we were seriously pursuing a couple of decent receiving TEs that strongly points toward a lack of quality receiving TEs currently on the roster. Does that mean we consider drafting one at 19? I don't know, but it wouldn't shock me and if we did there's only one guy it would be. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see TE drafting somewhere in the first three rounds.
    • Yeah, I don’t know. Tepper was behind the Bryce selection. Behind firings and hiring over his lack of development.  He doesn’t have to literally tell them their hands are tied for them to know this. It is in the air constantly. The Canales Bryce play calling was even portrayed by more than one person as Canales failing Bryce, instead of Bryce being responsible for his own performance (except when he does well, then it is all him). Now they have an extra coach in, to help the new OC get results from this QB.  The atmosphere is not welcoming to prototypical young QBs that have talent. You get Jake Plummer types or old vets. I think we are stuck.
