Bryce Young is the worst QB in Panthers History

Imagine if you are a DC and you are playing the Panthers with Young at QB......

...think how focused you could be to key off against the Panthers offense knowing there are certain physical skill sets that limits what Young can do in the QB position and how that allows you to manipulate and exploit the Panthers attempt to move the ball on key downs with Young behind center....

You just can't have a lack of options in the QB position in the NFL that most QB are all expected to have in their tool box.

Hey wait...........can Young punt???

The offense flat out didn’t do their job well enough for the majority of the game.   They didn’t exist.  Thats not even controversial.   A controversial take is wanting to cut the QB out of that

There's a difference between cutting the QB out of that, and cutting the whole franchise out of it and only blaming the QB.

Top 10 rush D, bottom 10 pass D.   6 minutes left in the game….we had a grand total of 7 points on the board largely thanks to the D putting the ball on the 19.   We didn’t convert 1 3rd down then

They just allowed 145 rushing yards to the Dolphins last week. If you are averaging 1.2 rushing yards per attempt you aren’t winning that game unless you have a top passing offense. Running game is our strength on offense right? Their time of possession was over 15 minutes more because they could run the ball and we couldn’t. There has to be an ounce of balance for most offenses to work. I know you know this. We beat them by 3 at home two weeks ago because we were able to have some balance. That balance didn’t exist today because of the running game.

Because he didn't care anymore. He didn't want Bryce. Bryce didn't fit his offensive mold at QB. Tepper picked his QB for him. Look at his demeanor before and after the draft. Can't work for a boss that lies to your face.

Then he should've quit before the season started.

no one sincerely cuts the whole franchise out of it and only blames the QB.

CRA doesn't even watch the games, usually. He just looks at statlines.

He knows his stuff. I think he picks some of these arguments out of boredom or just to debate. I can understand him wanting to move on from Bryce. I’m for it if that’s what we decide. He just wasn’t on the top of my list of issues this week. Last week is a different story.

The first page of this forum begs to differ.

That is because of three years of enduring Bryce’s college ball in the NFL. Three years. Same issues. People are sick of it.

Sure but plenty of NFL games go down where balance and ideals go out the window.  Thats just football sometimes.

You can find lots of examples of where teams have had virtually no run game in certain weeks and it got clamped ….We also couldn’t convert a single 3rd down.  Thats got something to do with TOP too.

We all know this pass game isn’t good enough and it starts with Bryce and Dave being the two biggest key for why.  If we want to not be bottom 3rd in 2026….the answer probably has less to do with finding another WR than it does Bryce

That was as plain as the defeated look on Frank’s face.

It's fine to blame him for what he does or doesn't do, but blaming him for everyone else's mistakes is lazy and stupid. People get sick of that, too.

I’m as big of a Bryce hater as anyone here.  It’s not just Bryce.  And I really can’t  think of a fellow hater that believes it’s just him.

but Bryce in no way at this stage projects to be a great QB in time.   He is low ceiling and inconsistent.

2 biggest game changers a team can find are a great coach or QB….so it is what it is.  He occupies a role that if filled with a better player has a lot of impact

    • Didn't  see this posted (since 2023) but since folks have been posting that you can't judge a draft class for three years (a ridiculous take), I thought I'd post this to see what people thought about the 2023 draft. Unfortunately this may not be the most interesting class to do this with but I do quite like retrospective draft grades. Would appreciate other's takes on this (and other recent) draft classes.   1(1) - Bryce Young QB: I am a bigger Bryce Young apologist than most (maybe all). I like the kid. But there is no way around it: This was a terrible pick. If he had been picked in the 4th or even the 3rd round I would feel pretty good about it. But this was the first overall pick that we gave up two firsts, our best offensive player to get.  GRADE: C -    2(39) - Jonathan Mingo WR: not much to say here here. He was here for two years. His yards per catch are on par with Bryce's yards per pass. Rough stuff. To date he has still never scored a touchdown in the NFL GRADE: F   3(80) - DJ Johnson OLB: a pick I hated as soon as it happened and an example of why the premise of this thread is honestly dumb. This was a bad pick when it happened. Most people knew it.  Then came training camp and he did not look good. Then came the preseason which confirmed what we saw in TC. Then came the season which confirmed what we saw in preseason. To date, he has half a sack in his career. GRADE: F 4 (114) Chandlers Zavala G: Honestly the best pick of this draft which really speaks to how awful this draft is. Other than Bryce, the only pick still on the team. He is mostly average or below average depth which in round 4 is not terrible. But he had a pff score of 43.5 and though I think people have unrealistic expectations for draft picks, I still would want a little more from a fourth round pick GRADE: C+   5 (145) - Jammie Robinson S: I liked the pick when it happened but ended up being a disappointment. He logged 1 tackle with the falcons last year and not enough snaps to get a grade on PFF.  GRADE: F OVERALL DRAFT GRADE: F
