Official Carolina Huddle Super Bowl LX Thread

Both of New England's TDs were scored when Maye went into "wing it and fling it" mode. As Deac said, when he did run, he ran well.

And, while some of the criticism of Sam Darnold may be warranted, Super Bowl history is littered with QBs who didn't light up the scoreboard but still came away with championships. Matter of fact, ever seen the list of Super Bowl winning QBs who didn't even throw a TD pass?

Namath SB3, Griese SB8, McMahon SB20, Aikman SB28, Elway SB32, Roethlisberger SB40, Peyton Manning SB 50, Brady SB53.

The difference was the SB MVP. I said it before halftime. The difference in that game was that Seattle had Kenneth Walker III and New England didn’t.

That was the difference. Seattle established a strong rushing attack and New England couldnt run the ball. With no rushing attack to respect their pass rush was able to just tee off against an overmatched OL.

It seemed pretty clear to me after seeing them here, and closing out the season, that Seattle could win behind that defense.

Made me wish I still gambled, I would have collected some money. The only way NE wins that game is if Sam hands it to them.

And Sam made some throws early on where he could have. LOL

yeah. He would have had to have one of those 4 pick outings to overcome their advantages. But we have seen that happen.

I looked at his stats mid 2nd qtr, they were not good.

Yeah, the thing with Darnold is he definitely has that ability to spiral. If things go poorly for him early oh boy, look out. It could be one of "those days". One of his first throws of the game very easily could've been a pick six. If that had gone down it might've been interesting. At some point, the Pats may have gotten a running game going but they failed to early and got in a situation where they had to start chasing points and had to abandon the run.

Wonder what the Vegas odds were on the first TD of the game being a pick 6 by Darnold.
