If Carolina fans were watching any other franchise entrench themselves so vehemently around this level of QB production, we'd be laughing like he'll and waiting for our chance to play them twice a year.

It would be like watching Atlanta is for us.

My original post :  Yeah man we are in better shape than the bulk of the teams in the league.

There is no goal post moving.  We have a top 15 wr room.  We have an absolute stud and a high floor guy.  Not sure why you are disparaging our guys,  So now for the offense to be unlocked we need a speed guy playmaker, this is insanity

But we don't have a top 15 WR room. You're the only one that I've seen say this this entire offseason. The professional analysts certainly aren't saying it.

1st round WR again. This will be so great.
Imagine if we had a QB worthy of all of this. It might be something.

I'm beginning to think that it's the only position Canales is capable of evaluating and he's 50/50 doing that.

It's either that or he needs 3 1st round receivers to have any success in his offense. Don't give me this bpa bs.

So to suggest that our offensive weapons might not be as horrible as being claimed if we were to have Josh Allen throwing to them instead of Bryce is a stretch? Maybe they would be better, maybe not. But I'm not going to keep saying we need more weapons and more this and more that with a QB that struggles to get 200 yards passing in a game.

You're right, our receiving corp was ranked in the bottom 3rd of the league. Who was throwing to them? A bottom 3rd QB.

If the team wants to get better it has to be serious about the QB position. We aren't and no amount of adding weapons is going to solve the fact Bryce is a bottom tier QB or that the most serious camp competition he has ever faced was Andy Dalton.

If Carolina fans were watching any other franchise entrench themselves so vehemently around this level of QB production, we'd be laughing like he'll and waiting for our chance to play them twice a year.

I mean, I generally agree with your point about improving the QB, but where I seem to differ is the suggestion that adding playmakers, first round or not, doesn't improve the team. At some point, you have to say that if we drop a real QB in there, much like the Rams did Stafford, then we're going places. The supporting cast is just as important as the QB at the end of the day. We aren't entrenched yet, we're still building and developing. We don't have the luxury to skip over a receiver who is the BPA at this point (and I'm not even saying that a receiver will be the BPA).

Detroit kept adding playmakers for Stafford when they had him too. They drafted receivers 4 straight 1st rounds. Got several coaches fired and eventually the much beloved GM/former player that went along with it.

I don't remember, but they sucked for decades. I'm sure that we could take a week dissecting all of the dumb things they've done over the years, least of which is basically running away a generational RB, a generational WR, and a franchise QB with their dysfunction. I'd like to think that we're on the rise. We have actually made moves this offseason to keep rising. We'll see what it amounts to come the fall and winter.

He got Coker, or somebody did. But we need more outside of that 1st round. 1st round is like hitting from the ladies tee.

I'm not saying adding playmakers is a bad thing and it does make sense in many respects. However, to say we need improvement from our playmakers and completely ignore the central playmaker is crazy. We don't know the level of playmakers we have because we don't have a QB capable of those types of play on a regular basis.

A lot of people love to bash on XL for needing to work on his game because he's not putting in the effort to get better. He's following the example set by his QB that refuses to work on his atrocious footwork. We crucify one and ignore the other. It doesn't make sense.

If we're going to be serious about adding weapons then let's be serious. Signing Kenny Pickett to back up Bryce doesn't signify we are committed to improving the offense. That move, and this idea Bryce needs more weapons, shows we aren't actually serious. You can't committ to a QB that has been one of the worst in the NFL the past 3 years and then claim you're serious about improving the offense.

They also got Horn and a few more udfa's last year. Last years draft so far is the only draft in years that may be worth a damn. They have to hit on 3 players this year to change their trajectory going forward. Anything short of 10 wins should require changes on the sidelines and on the field.

Again what teams do you disagree with

I still don't know what list that you're talking about. I'm talking about rankings today, as presently constituted.

Let's try this: argue, with a straight face, that our options are better than any team's on this list.

Houston

49ers

Broncos

Jags

Seahawks

Eagles

Lions

Bengals

Cowboys

Rams

https://www.si.com/nfl/ranking-10-best-wide-receiver-groups-nfl#:~:text=The first season with the, second year in the league.

Now, I'd argue that these teams options are better.

Packers

Chiefs

Bears

Cardinals

Buccaneers

Minnesota

Bills

New York Giants

Colts

Chargers

And these lists aren't even really predicated upon actual production in 2025.

Ravens

Pats

bills

miami

pats

jets

ravens

browns

jags (debatable for sure)

titans

Chiefs

Raiders

Giants (debatable)

Saints

Skins
