From what I remember it was for 2 future 1sts and an upcoming 2nd. For a non QB, that's a haul of an offer, if true. The problem is once we declined it, we lost any leverage with Burns to not make him a top paid edge rusher. As good as he was last year, he has never been a complete edge player. He has always been susceptible vs the run as we saw over and over. The picks may not have been top 10, but 1st rounders are valuable when you're in the middle of a rebuild, which we were, but Fitterer was in denial trying to act like we were only a player away from being a SB contender. It really is amazing how terrible of a GM he was. Of course, I also don't put it past McVeigh to put out a fake trade offer just to fug us over in contract negotiations because we wouldn't trade him away. God Fitterer's ability as GM was worse than swimming in a 3 week old construction site porta potty. -
