Newton: Shit just hit the Fan..

It will be huge sure, but only in terms of Auburn winning the title and Cam's Heisman, neither of which affect his NFL draft status at all.

It proves he lied. It shows another knock on his true character. Teams don't have time for this bull poo. they are tired of investing Millions in these kids that have issues.

Okay, so now we're not supposed to draft him because "he lied"? So what? Are you saying you haven't? Do you think Peyton Manning and Tom Brady haven't lied before? Seriously...LYING? How does someone's honesty affect their ability to throw a football where it needs to be thrown?

Cam haters: You were just delivered an opportunity to rightfully get your hits in on Cam with his shoddy performance at passing at the combine. You're being stupid if you instead decide to harp on the fact that Cam LIED as a reason why he shouldn't go #1. Reminds me of Obama haters that prefer to talk about how he supposedly isn't a natural-born citizen or a secret Muslim rather than rightfully get their hits in on his economic policy missteps.

that's exactly what I just said... thanks for responding..

Sorry if I missed your point. Its sometimes hard to tell with a Cam Newton thread. Not much bias on either side.

QFT.

The more a racist Alabama media head tries to assassinate Cam's character, the more I want us to draft him.

Um lets not make this about race. Its makes you sound just like the people that compare Cam Newton to JaMarcus. Dont stoop to that level because those people will beat you with experience every time.

LMAO please stop, he is the ICON remember? Look reality is and has always been he knew all along daddy was shopping him and everything about it. No way he didn't know.

That said, if these tapes are real, then the kid is right there in the room on tape so he is 100% guilty like his daddy and the Heisman and National Championship go bye bye. And I doubt someone is going to risk a slander suit and pay the money to go to the trouble to have the tapes validated unless something is on there.

The media is following him around because he's a good story, and it has nothing to do with pay for play. Think about it dude...how many unknown QB's come out of nowhere and put a team on their backs and carry them to a national title in their first year as a div.1 starting QB in the SEC? This just doesn't happen everyday. That is the story, and it will continue to be the story unless or until this so called proof comes out.

I haven't read all the crap that's been said in this massive thread, but all three of those links the OP posted references one radio show in Alabama, of which both hosts are professed Alabama fans. Until these tapes actually surface, then you absolutely have to take this rumor with a grain of salt.

Anyone find it funny that it's just the successful, legendary season having, young, iconic type black players (Newton, Bush, etc.) that get info like this "leaked" out on them?

This isn't to spark racial debate on the huddle, just an observation. Because players all over college are taking benefits - white, black, green, red, yellow, orange, whatever... I just find it funny that it's these two who are getting stuff leaked out about them and what they did.

Rhett Bomar and Art Schlichter were black?

    • Fowler: Bucs 23, Panthers 16. Baker Mayfield only won a single game when he was an unimpressive Carolina starter, but somehow he’s 5-0 when playing AGAINST the Panthers. For the Panthers to pull off this upset, they’ll need to score at least in the mid-20s. With Tampa Bay relatively healthy following a mini-bye (and Mike Evans’ return is huge), it feels like this will be too tough a task. Kaye: Bucs 24, Panthers 20. The win-loss-win-loss streak comes to an end. It’s hard to trust the play-calling following the loss to the New Orleans Saints. The Panthers know what’s on the line, but they also knew last week, too. It’ll be close; I just have trouble trusting a positive outcome after a defeating one on the road. Zietlow: Panthers 38, Bucs 35. This prediction goes against conventional wisdom, but then again, conventional wisdom doesn’t seem to apply to these Panthers. This group, after all, has yet to lose back-to-back contests since Weeks 1 and 2. I think they win this one to make Week 18 interesting — and yes, that’s even with motivated Baker Mayfield and future Hall of Famer Mike Evans in good form. Why not?
    • Sam developed into a different player after he mostly sat for a year and learned a ton by being in that QB room under Shannahan in San Francisco.  Then he went to the Vikings who have a poo load of talent and another genius level offensive mind at HC in Kevin O Connel. I think they genuinely built up his confidence in a way he never did in New York or Charlotte.  He would not have been the same player if he stayed here IMO. Especially if he had been involved in that disaster season with Frank Reich in 2023, that might have cooked his confidence for good.  I guess you could argue we wouldn't have been that bad if we also kept cmc and dj i guess.
    • Willis was impressive last night given the circumstances. GB and SF seem to just have it figured out as far as QB goes.   It's frustrating, but I enjoy seeing our old players find success elsewhere.
