Who cares if he took money? A lot of players have taken money. It doesn't make him a bad person. Stop whining. I'm not on the Cam bandwagon for #1 pick, but come on guys....get over this story. People act like he is the only player to ever take money or cheat on an exam.

If I was offered almsot $200K to play football somewhere when my family didn't have a lot of money, I would take the money. That doesn't make it right. But I'd do it. And I guarantee most of you would too.

Its still just a rumor. No matter how many links you put up its hear say. Until these supposed incriminating tapes are shared its just a a rumor from a guy that heard a guy had some tapes.

Besides everyone does understand that Reggie Bush was found guilty after he was in the NFL for this exact same thing and there was not even a cover story about it, No one cared, and the Saints did not kick him for the team.

Yep, Reggie laughed his way to the bank and Cam will too. This stuff is just not that important to a league where a 1st offense DWI gets you a couple of game suspension and rape gets you 6 games. Michael Vick has already been forgiven, for crying out loud, and what he did was ten times worse than this.

it's not what people believe, but being able to prove these assumptions..

until then, they are just assumptions..

True, but the best comparsion is your friend goes to the bathroom and craps up a storm without closing the door, using a match, or air freshner while your room is right across without you knowing. When Cam "left" Florida, he smelled the crap his dad was cooking while he was "picking" were to go.

you're right, it's a rumor.. just not a rumor through 15 different people.. lol

we'll find out in a few weeks how legitimate all of this is.. as for me, if we take Newton, cool... if not, cool...

I don't really have an opinion on the matter.. us average Joe's aren't professional scouts..

The part that pisses me off is, AGAIN, WE ALL KNOW HE HAD TO KNOW ABOUT IT. I think it has more to do with the media just not liking Cam. They don't want to see him succeed or be in a position of success. I guarantee you during the time I'm typing this a member of an incoming college player's family or entourage is accepting benefits from a school somewhere. It happens all the time.

So why all the focus on him?

Also, what does it really matter? Reggie Bush did the same, yet people seem to regard him as a fairly upstanding guy. If we're judging him off what kind of person he is because he violated NCAA rules, then none of us should be talking football. NCAA right/wrong is determined by the eyes of the beholder. It's bullsh*t.

I'm not defending Cam, this is about any and every college player, fug the NCAA and people who try to smear kids who want to be compensated for their services.

    • Fowler: Bucs 23, Panthers 16. Baker Mayfield only won a single game when he was an unimpressive Carolina starter, but somehow he’s 5-0 when playing AGAINST the Panthers. For the Panthers to pull off this upset, they’ll need to score at least in the mid-20s. With Tampa Bay relatively healthy following a mini-bye (and Mike Evans’ return is huge), it feels like this will be too tough a task. Kaye: Bucs 24, Panthers 20. The win-loss-win-loss streak comes to an end. It’s hard to trust the play-calling following the loss to the New Orleans Saints. The Panthers know what’s on the line, but they also knew last week, too. It’ll be close; I just have trouble trusting a positive outcome after a defeating one on the road. Zietlow: Panthers 38, Bucs 35. This prediction goes against conventional wisdom, but then again, conventional wisdom doesn’t seem to apply to these Panthers. This group, after all, has yet to lose back-to-back contests since Weeks 1 and 2. I think they win this one to make Week 18 interesting — and yes, that’s even with motivated Baker Mayfield and future Hall of Famer Mike Evans in good form. Why not?
    • Sam developed into a different player after he mostly sat for a year and learned a ton by being in that QB room under Shannahan in San Francisco.  Then he went to the Vikings who have a poo load of talent and another genius level offensive mind at HC in Kevin O Connel. I think they genuinely built up his confidence in a way he never did in New York or Charlotte.  He would not have been the same player if he stayed here IMO. Especially if he had been involved in that disaster season with Frank Reich in 2023, that might have cooked his confidence for good.  I guess you could argue we wouldn't have been that bad if we also kept cmc and dj i guess.
    • Willis was impressive last night given the circumstances. GB and SF seem to just have it figured out as far as QB goes.   It's frustrating, but I enjoy seeing our old players find success elsewhere.
