1. Carolina Panthers

Cam Newton, QB, Auburn

The "Force Majeure" for college football in 2010 is now the hotly debated first overall pick in 2011.

2. Denver Broncos

Nick Fairley, DT, Auburn

The best defender for the national champs gives new defensive-oriented coach John Fox a nice start in Denver.

3. Buffalo Bills

Da'Quan Bowers, DE, Clemson

Might have been hoping that Newton would still be available, but good pass rushers are always welcomed.

4. Cincinnati Bengals

A.J. Green, WR, Georgia

The best wide receiver in the draft could entice Carson Palmer to stick around for awhile.

5. Arizona Cardinals

Blaine Gabbert, QB, Missouri

Will need the Larry Fitzgerald stamp of approval, but many believe this young man is the class of the QBs in this draft.

6. Cleveland Browns

Robert Quinn, DE/OLB, North Carolina

New regime in Cleveland, and new defensive coordinator Dick Jauron gets another building block.

7. San Francisco 49ers

Patrick Peterson, CB, LSU

He has size, speed, range, and can return kicks.

8. Tennessee Titans

Marcell Dareus, DT, Alabama

Many think he is the equal of Fairley, maybe better.

9. Dallas Cowboys

Anthony Castanzo, OT, Boston College

Offensive line is a place Dallas is continuing to try to fortify.

10. Washington Redskins

Von Miller, OLB, Texas A&M

Showed at the Senior Bowl and combine that he can do it all.

Im so sick of seeing/hearing/reading that the Panthers are going to take Newton first overall. Too many quality selections to take a project number 1. If I had to choose Revis vs. Manning, I'd take Manning... but if I had to choose Revis over Russell, I'd take Revis.

where was russell drafted? where was revis drafted? apperently just about everybody in the NFL would have taken Russell over Revis at the time of the draft

I'll pull a surprise my murdering the next thing I see if that happens on draft day.

y? hes the best QB. He can scramble too which is obviously better than clausen sitting in the pocket for 20 seconds and not doing poo.

If i were to be able to interpreted this ill-advised post correctly, you think Newton is the best Quarterback? :dupe:

He couldn't even hit receivers being covered by there shadows at the combine... he is a bust waiting to happen.

Can't wait until Freddie McFootball releases his Mock Draft so we get another pointless mock draft thread.

I mean think about this. It's like a Pro-Newton guy will ask a Homeless Guy on the street and if that Homeless Guy says Fig Newton, we'll get a thread "HOMELESS GUY HAS THE PANTHERS TAKING CAM "FIG" NEWTON #1 OVERALL"

Ridiculous is it not?

That's right...keep comparing Russell to Newton. Pretty much ever analysts and scout out there knows that is a bogus comparison, since Russell showed up at the combine overweight and unmotivated, and Newton showed up in shape and ready to compete but whatever.

Yes, because throwing to different random Receivers you've never thrown to before is entirely on the QB for performance.

Do you realize that many QBs aren't throwing at the combine because there is a growing thought that it isn't a fair test?

Wait...I thought you guys keep claiming the media is against Cam...

Hmm. Maybe you should read up in the other threads how we now have two stories about his Combine interviews and one is being called out as a fraud (that would be the one in the negative)?

Peterson, Dareus, Green, Fairley, Bowers, Quinn or even Gabbert would be better choices than Newton imo.

    • Actually that 4400 was based on a 16 game season to match Bryce's 16 games this year. Your offense has to be to drive the ball when it matters. Bryce doesn't do that with any level of consistency. If you're building a team that isn't focused on your QB, then fine. Then there's no need to pay Bryce as a franchise QB because literally anyone else will do. If you're going to pay him 50m plus per season, you have to be able to put the team on his shoulders and know he's going to carry the load. So far, when the pressure is on to get it done, Bryce has fallen miserably short of the target. 4-6 to finish out the season and 0-2 when all we need is a win to secure a playoff spot isn't stepping up and proving yourself as a franchise QB. I'd say it's quite the opposite.  There isn't a single coach in this league that would take Bryce over Burrow and very few if any that would take Bryce over Prescott. Hurts didn't have to throw in 2025 because Philly's defense was disgusting and Saquan had a MVP season. But then again, Hurts has shown that he can when it counts, and then there's his signature. Philly runs the tush push to lethal perfection, but that's a play we can't even consider with Bryce. You used 3 QBs from teams that had no defense to show QB stats don't always matter. When we had the worst defense in the NFL, we didn't see Bryce step up and carry the offense and put up gaudy numbers in a losing season because we were playing catch up. It was pretty much the opposite.  What have we seen from Bryce consistently to consider offering him a top 10 NFL franchise QB level contract? At the end of the day, that's all that matters.
    • I mean, what fanbase has high expectations when you have a QB like Bryce leading your team?
    • If you pay Bryce $50M a year you greatly limit your ability to put the type of team around him you need to have to have a chance to win. THAT is the problem. Hell, we can't win with him on a rookie contract. How the hell are we supposed to start winning with him paying him like a franchise QB and having to make tough roster decisions to accommodate his cap hit?
