Deadline could get extended...

If the NFL offered it, its pretty much a slam dunk that it will get extended, don't forget it won't be a lockout if the NFL can prove that the other side was never bargaining in good faith and turning down an extension to talks by the NFLPA pretty much is ensures thats what they are doing.

Obama statement: "You have owners worth close to a billion, players making millions. The parties should be able to work it out, I'm a big football fan. For an industry making $9B I'd hope they can figure out how to divide it up in a sensible way. I hope they can come to an agreement without me having to intervene."

ESPN just reported that the owners presented the union with a proposal....the extension will give the union time to accept or reject the proposal...if the union doesn't decertify today by 12am, then Judge Doty will not be available for future antitrust lawsuits as he is retiring.

HA! Doty retiring = Owners win. Look if a decent offer was made, accept the damn thing. The players have to take a pay cut just like everyone else in the US today. If the owners backed off on how much, just do the deal, get paid and lets move on
