NFL Draft rumors: Post-Combine

Favre is a guy that he can call at anytime. Cam said that himself in an interview with NFLN. Say what you want, but I've yet to see a prospect with two HOFers being part of his team for their transition to the pros. There's a reason you don't hear other prospects having 'team so and so', it's because their pieces aren't all that high grade, it's because others don't prepare speeches for their press conference, it's because other prospects don't create their own workout and media days. You don't think there's a lot of people in his ear? You don't think Cam is different with other prospects in this regard? What can I say? The evidence is right in front of you.

He is different, sure, but far from the only one to ever enter the league this way. I just think he was bound to attract more attention thanks to his situation in college, background, and unique/boom or bust skillset.

If a player like Bradford came into the league with this type of "team" around him, would it attract as much attention? Probably not because Cam was already a polarizing figure before he even declared for the draft, where Bradford wasn't.

I'm not sure that Cam catching more crap is unjustified though. There is a reason for things, and the fact of the matter is that teams should be weary of all the attention surrounding this kid. Knowing about all the supposed 'loyalty money' Cecil received, you would be careful too. Look, I'm not a Cam hater, I'm simply one of those swing voters who neither hates nor loves him. It could be that his posse won't end up affecting his career at all. However, at the end of the day, this is the package that Cam comes with. This is the path that he chose given his background. I honestly think it's fair for people to have a few red flags.

Brett Favre is another one. Cam also said that he has a lot of marketing guys, advisors etc. helping him out.

The marketing guys are guys from his agent's firm. Literally every player's agent has this in their firms unless they are a really small firm.

Cam shouldn't be mentioning them though because I can understand how it can be off putting.

Since you are one of the clearer thinkers here, i want to pose a question.

Since we are going to stick with the 4-3, and many teams going 3-4, is there any reason not to trade E Brown to a team needing an OLB for 3-4?

Right now, he seems like dead weight for a 4-3 team and an embarrasment that we traded up to nab.

If a team wanted to trade that would be great. Probably never happen since teams aren't going to trade for a guy who's never played the position before.
