But... but.... I thought you guys said if Hurney and Rivera wanted the guy we should go get him??

I am not as confident as Tom is. But there has been a lot of interest that goes way beyond the forbidden s-word.

But it is still really early.

He's not a sure #1 pick yet, just don't want to see us with three young QB's and no vet. in the mix. Moore would be a vet, but I mean a vet. not on the team right now. Clausen, Pike, Moore and Newton would still mean lot's of growing pain's. We need a vet for a couple season's atleast.

Vet QB = overrated. That is what QB coaches are for. Last I checked Matt Moore is a vet and does things the right way. He could be a great influence.'

Or bring Jake back

This move just make sense to me when you look at many factors.

1. The new coaching regime wants to teach, not just coach..what better way to show this by getting the QB who could be the best out of everyone with the right teaching.

2. If you look at our past draft history, we have been able to find good players in later rounds at almost every postion but QB(and DT). Steve Smith, Greg Hardy, Dan Connor, David Gettis, Brandon Lafell, Captain Munnerlyn Sherrod Martin, and Mike Goodson just to name a few all came in the later rounds and are all starters or potential starters. We could go with DT since we've failed there finding a true fire impact player at that position but it wouldn't be the noticeable impact that a QB would have.

3. I don't think or even know why Gabbert is the media darling for number 1. To me you have to at least show you are good and can win in college to be drafted in the top 10. Hell he was even in the spread offense and it baffles me how he couldn't have good numbers with that. Matt Ryan at least had the excuse he was in a pro style system.

Just my opinion.

Guess we're gonna lose a lot of "not racist fans."

Remember, it's not personal, it's just business.

He played football in Alabama. Alabama is the mecca of racists. He was an idol in Alabama. The rednecks will come around when he wins us some games, they always do.

A individual that calls another individual racist...is racist

We're not going to lose a bunch of fans by drafting Newton.

The whole idea is just stupid.

Agreed.

The mass exodus begins April 28th. I expect this fanbase to morph into something its never been in a few years if we make this move.

Wrong for the 1 billionth time.

    • It appears that he sees things differently than the QB and OC, so Cam's advice is spot on. It isn't about number of targets, it's about quality of targets. Trust and being on the same page. BY doesn't know how to anticipate what XL is doing. And XL doesn't like where BY is placing passes. One on one film study would go a long way. More for BY than XL though. He has to adjust to XL. I really don't think XL can adjust on the fly.
    • If the team shows improvement, then he shouldn't be in danger of losing his job - even if the record doesn't reflect. This was a very young team (with a lot of new vet starters) that overperformed last season. Somebody's doing something right. Consistency is key with so much youth. And we're potentially looking at new starters at ILB and FS. Those are positions that take time to fully understand the defense. ILB calls the front 7. Safety calls the back 4. Injuries at WR and IOL killed the offense last season. Depth needs to be upgraded. Same with Edge. I think they would have won more games if Pat Jones doesn't go down early. Be smart with the roster and draft. Trade players for assets when it's time to pay them more than they're worth - yes, that includes BY if he doesn't make a pretty big jump. That's one of the many reasons Tillis is as important as anyone to the future of this team.
    • He had heart surgery a while back he looks Fraile I hope he is okay
