blaine gabbert wonderlic 31 not 42

Honestly, this makes me want him even more. There is not really too much of a trend in wonderlic scores and they don't mean much but 30-35 seems to be the elite status range. Of course there are exceptions and maybe that doesn't mean much. There isn't much when you look at 40+ players so this helps him IMO. As far as if he is better than Cam, I really think they are 50/50. I see a lot more hype for Cam and dummies sucking it up but they both have great size and talent and huge ????.

If anyone is getting hype it's gabbert. Cam's stats justify number one billing along with big time wins in big games. What has gabbert done to even be considered an elite quarterback. All the people talk about his tools but his tools didn't help him get it done in college why would that change in the NFL?

50/50 would be insult to cam in my opinion.

Because success in college at QB does not equal success in the NFL. Cam is a great athlete and that is what everyont throws out there as evidence he will be a great NFL QB.

He is a better athlete than Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, Drew Brees, Phillip Rivers, Big Ben, Matt Ryan, Sam Bradford, Wareen Moon, Joe Montana, etc.

He is comparable as an athlete to Jamarcus Russell, Ryan Leaf, Vince Young, Michael Vick, The Golden Calf of Bristol, etc.

I would argue that the second group were more successful college players than the first.

What else is there to go on? What is the measuring stick to hold them accountable to? If college success mention nothing and tools and prodays are all that matters, why is Jimmy clausen a failure? Even we throw out stats I'd still take in to consideration the players success in big games and under pressure.

None of those situations did gabbert thrive in. Basing thing off just tools and potential is just as blind as basing success on stats. Infact I'd put more stock in stats thank a nice throwing motion anyday.

Wonderlic scores are the most irrelevant measurement of evaluating a player there is. I defy anyone to show me the slightest bit of correlation between Wonderlic scores and NFL success. Or maybe I just missed how Ryan Fitzpatrick was the NFL MVP last season and Dan Marino was garbage.

you really only read what you want to read. each super bowl winning QB of the past 10 years or so has had a wonderlic score above 24. i'm not saying that because he got a higher score he WILL win a superbowl, it just means that he has a better chance of doing so than someone who scores bellow a 25.

    • As I've said numerous times the last few days, having Thielen on the field has literally 0% to do with my views on this (I've even said I think Renfrow is going to take a ton of snaps from Thielen anyways).  He has more value to this team without playing a single snap than a 2026 5th round draft pick does for the franchise.   His value is helping set up T-Mac, XL, Coker, and Horn for long term success by helping them learn how to be pros, how to go about their business, how to train, how to do all the little things that helped turn Thielen from a D2 undrafted player into a borderline Vikings legend.
    • He only wants to be traded because it's the Vikings who are calling. If he didn't want to be here, he could have retired, instead he took a pay raise to come back for another season.  I get it, it's an opportunity that he'd like to take, but we shouldn't cut off our nose to spite our face because he now wants to jump at this opportunity less than two weeks before the season starts. I'm not against trading him, I'm just against trading him for a return that doesn't help our team as much as having him on the roster would.  I'll put it this way, if a 5th is the best we can get for him from the Vikings and he's now dug in on not wanting to stay this year, I'm saying screw you and trading him to any of the other 30 teams besides the Vikings for the best offer we can get. He was perfectly happy here a week ago, if the Vikings soured him on that and then want to get him for peanuts, then screw them both.
    • Yes and no, he wants to go back and his wife most definitely wants to go back. He took a bunch of team mates to Minny and has worked out with JJ two offseasons in a row. It's where both him and his wife are from.    The money was basically a please come back and help Bryce. Pretty please...here's some more money.    Now he's agreed to a paycut to go back to the Vikings.
