They might have a decent QB but they have nothing else. We have a lot of talent to build around with just a few tweaks. Plus their defense needs something like 13 new starters to be competitive and we only need 1-2.

Our team is moving in the right direction and Cam would set us back.

Mock drafts and the actual draft don't always represent which players are the best.

So many other things come into consideration.

They would only trade with us if they believed both QBs would go 1/2 I think. In order for that to happen someone would have to trade with Denver, which isn't happening before we pick, and we would need to go QB. Otherwise, they are guaranteed one of the two prospects they really like.

Denver probably wants Dareus or Fairly and may be concerned we may take the guy they like the most, so playing the QB card may entice someone to trade with us to bypass Denver, therefor landing them their DT. Or, they could be covering their bases by properly scouting the top talent in the draft like a good team would.

I know we never had franchise QB. Jake was a servicable QB and helped us to Superbowl and we've haven't thought about looking for a real QB ever since. I bet you would be content with a 9-7 record every year and no playoffs. Another simple minded fool brainwashed by the front office. No it's because I think he can be I'm just not sure if he will be. I don't like his attitude and the image he gives off. I don't like the people he's surrounded himself with. I don't like the stuff in his past. I don't like the issues he has on the field. I don't like spending 30-50million dollars on a project. I think our team is close and if he does make an impact it won't be for a while so I'd rather have someone that can help us get over the hump sooner.

I can't stress enough that I don't think he's that good of a QB and he's not worth anything close to the #1 pick to me. I'd rather go after a better overall player which in my opinion would help this team get better immediately.

I think with a new DT our defense goes from good to great. I think with a new OC our offense goes from bad to average. I think with anyone but Jimmy at QB our offense goes from bad to average. I think with the combo of all of those things, we are in the hunt for a playoff spot next year.

I bet you would be content with a 9-7 record every year and no playoffs.
