Sean Payton on The Jimmy

CRA

So I guess in sports we all believe every team has a shot....especially in the NFL on a week by week basis.

Apparently, Payton didn't feel Carolina had a shot w/ The Jimmy to pick up a win against a divisional opponent late in the year.

I mean, you know your QB play is bad when someone doesn't even have a little hope that you can pull of an upset against a divisional opponent. (which bad teams do fairly often).

I mean, this is a coach that saw his own team lose by double digits to Colt that same year. But with Peyton, "any given Sunday" doesn't apply when The Claw is at QB.

Ah, so that's the excuse for Marshawn Lynch running over the entire Saints defense...

At the end of the season everyone is beat up and everyone is tired, it becomes a manhood thing and we can all see where the Saints are on the manhood scale after getting beat by the first team in the history of the NFL to make the playoffs with a losing record.

Looks more like an indictment of our QB situation last year in general, and not specifically against Jimmy.

it was a week 17 game he was dwelling on. Clausen had been driving this ship for awhile (and was the QB for the overwhelming majority of the year).

I think Peyton would have thought Moore gave us a puncher's chance.

I don't care if you like Jimmy or not, or even if he sucks. I don't like outsiders trashing my boys. Only we can do that..

FUG YOU!!! Sean Payton. FUG YOU!

Yup, he may be a chump but he's our chump... Payton needs to pop another Vicoden and mind his own business.

You'd tap it

Maybe if he put that speedo back on and grew his hair out again I'd consider it. Do you want me to post a picture of girls I bang all the time? I'll post one of this hottie I banged on Saturday night!

Some chick is about to pick me up right now and take me out on her dime. I know people damnit!

If you're a real Panthers fan, then he's your chump as long as he wears a Panthers uniform.

Good thing I can get back to being a "real Panthers" fan soon then. I don't have to be a fan of everyone on the team. I'm a fan of the team. If they make a decision that I feel isn't in the best interest of the team, which I felt when they drafted Jimmy, I will be upset and I'm not forced to like him.

Doesn't mean I'm renouncing my fandom. I'd just be a happier fan when he isn't starting. I'll be an ecstatic fan when he's playing for the Toronto Argonauts

Agree, but we're talking about this in the context of an outsider putting down someone in a Panthers uniform.

    • He can’t even learn to run routes. No chance in hell he can do both that and pick up blocking schemes
    • Well he had essentially a 70% completion rate for almost three thousand yards.  Biggest issues were awkward and inconsistent release.  I wouldn't call arm strength bad, but not great.
    • I see him being better and most of that is a few downfield passes that were seemingly non existent.    But it is what is around him that has dictated the trajectory more than the quarterbacking. He is game manager level and unable to dictate to defenses.  And even if I am wrong and he is the reason we ‘upwarded’, we are bumping our heads on the ceiling and only making meager gains. If it is an incline it is awfully shallow degree wise. Like a finance graph that tracks your progress and hovers around the rate of inflation. Barely breaking even.  Is that where you want your money?  We make up these deadlines expectations and generally he does the minimum of what he needs to do to hang around.    It does not encourage me to believe that when we get into a game against a good run d that we cannot break down with our run game, to believe that we can pivot to the air and successfully counter their strategy.  But they run it back again. Of course I am gunshy of a repeat of the same thing we have watched for three years.    oh, and yes his durability is his most impressive positive for my money. I fear the other shoe dropping on that and the contractual consequences that will follow.   Last  of all, too late to edit my mistake here but would like to acknowledge it: the last three years has done very little to convince me that I was not wrong in not wanting him. One too many “not”s.
