Newton is our black Jesus, why can't you guy's see that he is our savior. He will lead us to the "promise land."

But in all seriousness, I say we just wing the draft and pick up every Auburn player in the draft.

QB- Cam Newton

DT- Nick Fairley

OT- Lee Ziemba

WR- Darvin Adams

C- Ryan Pugh

RB- Mario Fannin

SS- Zac Etheridge

CB- Demond Washington

DE- Antoine Carter

DT- Mike Blanc

ILB- Josh Bynes

K- Wes Byrum

OG- Mike Berry

OLB- Craig Stevens

Can you say Super Bowl...."Super Bowl"

Best options: Palmer or Garrard. Fallback: Volek, maybe Bulger. Go looking for the franchise guy again next year (assuming some of our other needs have been shorn up).

Luck wouldn't have gotten us to the promised land this season either, but he was someone you couldn't pass up. No one else in this draft is on that level.

Ugh. And how long do you think it will take us to win a Superbowl that way?

If we make the right moves, at least two years.

If it can be done with John Fox as coach, I have no problem believing it can be done with Rivera.

Wouldn't predict that it will, but could it? Sure.

And like with Fox, there's always the "mid-level" free agent route too.

Right.

Because turning down this year's "sexy" prospect for a veteran and waiting for someone who the team believes can actually be a Franchise QB is clearly "instant gratification."

How has passing on every QB they could have drafted in Rd 1, since they had Jake and it was evident they needed to prepare for a future without him, to go position player instead gotten this team?? It has led to having abysmal QB play for several season now and still no answer or quality starting QB.

Giving up on a QB after only one season, especially a mess like last year's was, is not smart.

And if we get a veteran, what's the point of using that top pick on a project QB when we already have two?

Much better to use it to shore up another area of weakness. QB is far from the only one.

I dont think the Panther expected to be picking at #1 when they used last years second rounder to draft Clausen. If drafting Cam is a upgrade and most likly a significant one over Clausen you pick him. QB is the most important position and you dont pass on a top notch one just because you have a guy you picked in round 2 the season before. Best case scenario you develop both and have a great value in Clausen to trade or worst case scenario play if the Veteran they bring in or eventually Cam got hurt. The Panthers have been passing on top QB talent for position players for years and that hasnt seamed to work out very well.

I agree with the notion of drafting a franchise QB with a high pick in the first round.

I disagree with the notion that it has to be done this year, just because we have the #1 pick.

I'd rather take a guy who makes sense at say, #10, than a guy who's a reach at #1.
