Warren Moon sees racial bias regarding Cam Newton

Nobody considered Colt McCoy a top overall pick...this is ridiculous. It's so funny how it's racist to comment on how he carries himself but nobody cares that everyone thinks that Mallet is a douchebag...why is no one coming to his defense?

Nobody questions his smile being fake either

So... when black reporter talks crap about white QB... its ok. But when white reporter talks crap about black QB its a "racial bias". Same old poo, different day.

That's a hard mountain to climb Arsen. It's not that simple. It's the amount of bad press getting pushed out there and the angle most of the media are taking on Cam. Mcclover and those Auburn guys could've came out anytime and talked about 'pay for play,' so why now? You don't think media are probing guys, asking them if they knew about it? I don't think it's coincidence.

And with that story, Ohio St. is implicated, with Tressel, who was looked at as an upstanding guy until this 5 game suspension coming up... I thought that was the more interesting story, but what is all over the news? Auburn. Why?

Then take into account Peter King's "icon and entertainer" quote being taken out of context.

And also, how many white reporters are there? How many black reporters? How many of those are influential? I hate for anyone to play the race card, especially when it has no merit whatsoever. But, I think Moon has a point here.

They didn't say they thought The Golden Calf of Bristol would have a hard time running a pro offense, at least the majority didn't... It was his mechanics that were scrutinized. And not a fair comparison either because The Golden Calf of Bristol was more heavily criticized than other white QBs because of his beliefs and outspoken nature regarding them.

I seem to remember him being criticized because he ran the spread, was only under center twice in college, and had a slow throwing motion. And the offensive comprhension questions were there for The Golden Calf of Bristol and should be there for Newton. These guys ran a system in college that had one read. In the pro's you are making 3-4 reads in half the time. Sorry, not buying Warren's story.

He might be on something. I never seen so many eagerly anticipate the wonderlic scores as soon as he came back average no one cared, but before that the stuff I heard from people was just ridiculous.

actually newton's wonderlic came back below average for an NFL quarterback.

not a big deal, though nobody with a wonderlic as low as his has won a superbowl in some time, but it's not impossible.

3 guesses who the quarterback was who was labeled as "dumb as rocks" during and after the season, before the combine.

Hint: He's already been mentioned in this thread!

edit:

Imagine if Newton had a cocaine rumor floatin around you know yall would be in here going crazy but he his little media slap on the wrist and it's swept under the rug.

let me be clear: just because you do not think people made a big deal about the cocaine thing does not mean it wasn't made a big deal. As early as December people were claiming Mallett could fall, fall, fall, because of all this off the field problems and his problems related to intelligence etc. I read far more stories and comments about Mallett related to his intelligence, NOT his football IQ, but his actual intelligence, than I ever did Cam Newton.

Go google "Ryan Mallett needs a scantron."

Cam Newton is not stupid. But there's a difference between saying "so and so is stupid" and saying "so and so would have a bigger adjustment to the pro game because of how he played in college."

Why? Because Auburn has a potential #1 pick in the draft. Of course they are going to dominate the news over Ohio St. Ohio St. is not going to contribute jack squat to the top 5 picks this year.
