I smashed my hand...

I think I'm going to the doc it's just a bad idea to risk re-injuring the hand and being incapacitated from work etc. I had to accept some firm handshakes today and that fuging hurt. Whatever the name of the metacarpal bone of your pinky really feels bruised at best.

Sorry to whine so much I'm just kind of bored and I'd rather whine to anonymous people than my friends. I can be a closet whiner wooohhooo.

Obviously, if your hand is hurt, you don't want to go using that hand needlessly, such as with groceries and whatnot... this also includes making sammiches.

I counsel that you should rest for the night and drink alcohol. When you wake up tomorrow will be the telling tale. If your hand is so swollen you can't do anything, then go to the doc. If it's just a bit purplish and sore, you'll be fine.

Just don't go making any sammiches.

Dammit the metacarpal bone below the pinky is totally broken in two. Rubbing dirt apparently has it's limitations. It might need pins I'll find out tomorrow. If I had strutted around trying to be all tough for 6 weeks it would have healed and messed my digits up really bad.

Get it checked.

I broke a bone in my hand and the swelling went down after a day and I had no idea. It was still sore and lifting anything particularly heavy hurt. However, my job doesn't require much heavy lifting and it was fine other than that.

After 2 months I finally went to the doctor and had to wear a cast then a splint.
