PFW: Carolina seeks second-round pick By Nolan Nawrocki

Yes, Newton. He would make a damn fine receiver one day

With his spead, size, and strength I think he could be the field stretching tight end that Rivera and Chud need to get the offense on track. Maybe that's the smokescreen. Draft him at QB with the first pick and move him to TE. It's a two for one deal. He can play both positions, but until he gets the QB position down at the pro level he can start at TE.

Marty wants everyone to believe he is taking a quarterback," said one rival executive. "He would love to get his second-rounder back (traded to the Patriots last year to land Armanti Edwards in the third round).

Hahaha "Let's trade Steve Smith/D-Will/J-Stew/etc. to get our 2nd rounder back"

Does anyone defend the AE pick anymore?

The most ideal scenario for Carolina would be to drop back a few spots and still be able to land Green, while adding a second-round pick that could be used to provide more competition with Clausen, yet not creating the pressure to play right away that comes with selecting a quarterback first overall. If the Panthers are forced to sit still, however, it will not be a surprise if Green becomes the first receiver selected at the top of the draft since Keyshawn Johnson 15 years ago.

I'm down!

Would you really want Cam at tight end? seriously

I find it hilarious that this tool Lameocki is throwing Hurney's name around. When just last week Hurney said:

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/04/01/panthers-g-m-marty-hurney-defends-cam-newton/

“(Nawrocki) did his job. He’s selling books.”

Hurney appeared on WFNZ the Fan in Charlotte Friday, and the first question he was asked pertained to Nawrocki’s criticisms of Newton.

“(Nawrocki) has never met Cam Newton,” Hurney said. “So who has (Nawrocki) talked to? He says he’s talking to decision makers. We have the No. 1 pick. He hasn’t talked to me.

What... a... fuging... tool...

I am still hopeful that Armanti can turn into a second round caliber receiver. So I guess I still do.

This is starting to piss me off. And what does it matter if we get a 2nd rounder when QB is the worst spot on our roster still??? It's a f*cking retarded logic. F*ck Nawrocki, I think he's full of sh*t.

We got one guy saying that QBs aren't even in consideration and how many others saying we're taking Cam. I'll stick with the majority here. Sure, it's a possibility that he's right, but I think this is just more bs...

    • With the contract money an OT first rounder makes you can ALWAYS get a new girlfriend.  And probably an upgrade at that.  You only got 2 parents.
    • Brother. You are wholly confusing comparing situations and applying actual standards like most other franchises do like simply getting into a playoff series and winning at least 1 or 2 series games with praising. Nobody is praising the Hawks. Nobody is praising the Magic. Nobody here likes those teams. But reality is reality. The Hawks like other franchises have traded players fired coaches etc but they can still win a couple playoff games. How is that not the bare floor for you or anyone else? What are we doing here if it isn't? We've seen eye to eye on many things over the years. But you are in the camp on the Hornets where you are emotionally attached to LaMelo where you feel the need to carry his water like he's got that juice. That's cool that you feel that way. It's your prerogative. But I differ from that viewpoint entirely. If he had that juice we would not have gotten wiped off the court in 2 play in games with 2 different coaching staffs and rosters. if people don't like hearing that well I'm sorry but how the hell is this team ever going to get better and ultimately go anywhere in the postseason if we just blindly pat them on the back for getting their asses whooped before they actually even get into the real playoffs? There seem to be some Bryce Young level standards being applied here. That's wild to me. But to each his own.
    • Proctor/Freeling were always the belles of the ball where we were picking. What those two *could* become at OT was far greater than what others could be at their respective positions and I’m glad our FO could see that.
