Seriously, split back into the NFL/AFL

Now no monopoly legally. The owners of the TWO leagues can just vie over college athletes as they come out of school, Screws us with no draft though. But then each league could negotiate out TV contracts and now implement labor laws the way the rest of us have with limits on each position. No more anti trust bull poo.

I like the idea personally. Most likely there would still be some kind of regular season games between the 2 (something along the lines of 3-4 games) it would also allow the individual leagues to go up to 20 teams each. 1 of the new teams must come from another country. 1 of which should definitely be Mexico City the other would probably have to be in America maybe a Canadian City.

The only problem with the idea is the Salary Cap issue. I think what has made the NFL so popular is the unpredictability of it. I mean one year a team could go 7-9 and miss the playoffs the next they could win the SB. If the league did split I don't see how they could have one unless it was only in name two different leagues. That would be collusion I would think.

Either way its not going to happen.

This is how they run soccer all over the world and it works for that sport but I think soccer is a lot larger internationally. If you split the leagues I think you would water down the talent level. I like watching Peyton Manning v. Tom Brady. If your scenario played out these types of match-ups would never happen.

Bull poo. The game would be better with twice the games played on Sunday or whenever

why exactly would there be twice the games played??

hell, a lot of people who have said this could happen have said it would lead to constriction because the smaller market teams would no longer get the same amount of revenue from revenue sharing, causing them to go belly up in a system where you NEED to spend more to be competitive.

    • Sellers is absolutely one to keep an eye on. Could be the next Cam or could be the next Anthony Richardson. Curious to see how he has progressed come this fall.
    • I think Texas could go 0-12 and he would still go #1 based on his name and traits like you say.  But nusselman and sellers may be actually better qbs.    Man if bryce stinks it up this season its looking like a damn good year to swap out qbs.  Sellers highlights are just fuging jaw dropping
    • I mean, the kid comes from a wealthy family. It's not like he needs the money. He has a ton of potential now we get to see what he can do as a starter. Everyone penciling him in as the #1 overall pick is putting the cart way before the horse. It's 5% because of his talent and what he's showing on the field and 95% because his last name is Manning. And if he is what he's hyped to be the Texas coaching staff needs to be answering some tough questions about why the kid wasn't on the field sooner. Ewers was a good college QB but he's definitely not a "keep a future #1 overall pick waiting" type of college QB. Only getting one season out of a top NFL talent because you chose to keep him buried behind a borderline NFL talent is just coaching negligence. Not starting him as a true freshman? Yeah, I get that. But on year two if the kids is what he's hyped to be you gotta wish Ewers well elsewhere and turn the page.
