I never remember looking at commercials as a kid and thinking "what is that?" Mostly because I watched the typical kids networks and kids shows. But I do remember watching American Pie with the parents when I was like 10. I was asked to refill tea cups every 10-15 minutes. Didn't understand why until like, 8th grade.
