Derek Landri and Barry Cofield

Recommended Posts

I wouldnt mind seeing the panthers make a move for cofield in free agency he is still young at 27. he and landri would be 2 good starters for us at the d tackle positions.then draft another tackle in the 3rd round or 2nd when we trade back into the 2nd. people think landri isnt that good, but he had comparable stats to cofield last season, and believe it or not, landri was top 10 in tackles for loss in the nfl for defensive tackles.

Landri definately impressed. He'll continue to get better, esppecially if we can put a dominate tackle beside him.

:iagree:

Landri is one of those types of players that can take advantage of other teams focusing on a top rated DT. I would have loved to see what he would have done next to a healthy Jenkins or Kemo.

Not good enough to main DT but good enough to be highly productive.

Landri was great at slipping through gaps vs. the run, but he struggled to provide pass rush. He is a solid roational player.

I saw that the Panthers were talking (2 mos. ago) to Purnell McPhee, a DE from Miss St. He is not an effective pass rusher at 285 lbs from the end position. I could not help but wonder if we might be considering him at the 3 technique, where he would be a good pass-rushing DT--maybe. He is tall and could add 10 pounds. Nice compliment to Landri, who we need to re-sign before anything else

    • Umm yeah. When did he get it done at the right time? I seem to remember a 4-6 finish and needing Atlanta to win our way into the playoffs but whatever.
    • I mean....no lies detected. See above. We have traded a fortune to draft a guy #1 overall that people have lowered standards for to the point that not playing like Jimmy Clausen and looking like a poor man's Kyle Allen occasionally is worthy of a contract extension making him one of the highest paid QB's in the league. That is cope on steroids.
    • summary: "let's talk about your draft, what did you think about Freeling" Dan:   guys with a huge upside, can come in and compete to start.  High ceiling "he does what for your offense?" Dan:   it's hard to find left tackles, guys that big and athletic.  We have Icky coming off an injury, we signed Walker, I believe your offensive line can never be too strong.  If we're going to win the game, it's gotta be up front on both sides of the ball, so we make a point of emphasis on making both sides of the front as strong as possible. "how many mocks did you see Monro falling to you." Not many times, left tackles are gonna go a lot earlier than when we took him.  We want to add the best player, in free agency or the draft"  that's our philosophy, to get the best players possible. "Hunter and Brazzell." Dan:  we followed the board.  Lee we felt very highly of him , super strong.  Brazzel so flexible and loose, can open the verticle.  Will Lee we held in high regard. "you take a look at your receiver room, Coker, my goodness, your offensive rookie of the year in Tet.  Lost Rico, but there is Jonathan Brooks. " Brooks coming off two knee injuries, he worked his way back, looking great, fully healthy, will help in pass and run game.  Icky, not sure when he's coming back but we're excited about both "plan on extending Bryce" we'll keep talking, will keep internally.  We believe in him, has such a great grasp of Canales and offense, has improved every year. "he's clearly come back from the benching, the arrow is trending up, where does he feel" Bryce knows where we stand with him, when and if a deal gets done, he knows we feel great with him, we'll get something done at the right time. "if this a prove it situation?" everyone in the building has to prove it, has to earn it. Tmac was everything we wanted, his work ethic, he's so big and talented, but he puts the work in, and is a great teammate. "your level of expectation, the building's level of expectation for 2026 "our goal is to win the division every year, we know we have to earn it.  we have to put the work in every day, proving it on the practice field, and our  guys know that." "schedule" we haven't opened at home in 2 or 3 years.  We love prime time games, hope we get some "
