Hound is dead, though Arya not killing him outright makes anything possible I guess.

Might as well roll out the red fuging carpet for Stannis now though.

The Hound isn't dead, he's encountered later digging graves at a monastery.

Thats just someone else with his helm on. Which hasn't been seen in the show in forever.

I'm not talking about Rorge wearing his helmet, I'm talking about Sandor Clegane digging graves at a monastery in Quiet Isle. He's there when Brienne arrives looking for him. He'd found by an Elder Brother of an order of silent monks and joins them after being nursed to health.

great episode. I haven't read the books but I have a theory after that episode. When the 3-eyed raven dude tells Bran he is going to fly I had a vision of the series ending with a team up of Bran and Dany and Bran Warging into her dragons to fight off the white walkers

One of my favorite George RR Martin writings is at the end of this chapter where Tyrion kills Tywin:

"But the stink that filled the privy gave ample evidence that the oft-repeated jape about his father was just another lie.  Lord Tywin Lannister did not, in the end, sh*t gold"

One of my favorite Georg RR Martin writings is at the end of this chapter where Tyrion kills Tywin:

"But the stink that filled the privy gave ample evidence that the oft-repeated jape about his father was just another lie.  Lord Tywin Lannister did not, in the end, sh*t gold"

There's a theory that I actually believe that Oberyn had already poisoned Tywin anyways before Tyrion shot him. There's a poison called widow's blood mentioned by Pycelle that shuts down a person's bowels until they die of their own toxicity from not being able to poo.

The stink of Tywin's body is described as absolutely wretched even through his funeral. There's a lot of stuff that hints at his body being unusual disgusting and prematurely rotten.

"The King’s Hand was rotting visibly. His face had taken on a greenish tinge, and his eyes were deeply sunken, two black pits. Fissures had opened in his cheeks, and a foul white fluid was seeping through the joints of his splendid gold-and-crimson armor to pool beneath his body."

“Your father,” said Prince Oberyn, “may not live forever.”

Something about the way he said it made the hairs on the back of Tyrion’s neck bristle. Suddenly he was mindful of Elia again, and all that Oberyn had said as they crossed the field of ashes. He wants the head that spoke the words, not just the hand that swung the sword. “It is not wise to speak such treasons in the Red Keep, my prince. The little birds are listening.”

“Let them. Is it treason to say a man is mortal? Valar morghulis was how they said it in Valyria of old. All men must die. And the Doom came and proved it true.”

Christ almighty, that episode.

Funny enough, a couple of weeks ago I was talking to a friend of mine (non book reader to another) and said that I had a feeling that either one or both of Arya/Tyrion was gonna end up in Essos soon enough.

Someone in this thread inadvertently hinted at the former being true, but I guess tonight confirmed the latter.

Nevertheless, my intrigue with the continent of Essos will hopefully be further quenched. I'm so beyond excited for this next season. Everything is in shambles and suddenly Stannis is looking to announce "Look at me. I'm the captain now."

Nice ending to the season. Didn't expect Tywin to die this early or even by the hands of Tyrion.(while taking a poo lol)

Did I miss something but why did Arya decide to go North?(w/o spoiling)

I think they missed 2 big chances for making things more fun these past few episodes. It would have been a much bigger feeling moment if Stannis arrived during the battle at the Wall last week to help win. I know they had to have the scene with Jon and Mance before he arrived, but they could have stuck that in at some point after Thorne saw just how many wildlings there were. The way they had Stannis just kind of run in while they're eating lunch didn't feel epic and then everyone just kinda shrugged like "Well guess Stannis is here."

The second is obviously Lady Stoneheart. The season should have ended with a shot of Catelyn's corpse opening its eyes before it cut to black. Would have generated massive buzz. Ending with Arya floating off to Braavos was such a meh moment. And I'm not gonna spend 10 months pretending Catelyn wasn't resurrected like probably close to a year ago in show time.

Awesome ending to the season.

Now comes the hard part....waiting for months on end to see next season. Though, I guess I have plenty to keep me busy. Panthers TC is soon, then the season, then hockey picks up in October along with The Walking Dead. But poo...this show is fuging amazing.

DUDE. SPOIL PROOF THAT LAST PARAGRAPH! JESUS. I WASN'T SURE WHAT YOU MEANT NOW IT'S RUINED FOR ME.

Fine, but it's from A Storm of Swords which seasons 3 and 4 of the show were announced to cover. There was no way you were going to go the next 10 months without hearing that.
