You're trolling too hard.

After reading all the books and watching the show, it seems like the common theme for GRRRRRRRRRM is that he can intimate an idea but can't find a good way to end it.  He seems to ramble on until he bumbles into an acceptable conclusion for things.  Which makes sense seeing as he's a TV guy at heart and its easy to see how TV shows and even individual skits (hey, SNL) have a hard time finding their natural ending.

Lowest rated episode ever. Officially the first 'rotten' episode. http://www.rottentomatoes.com/tv/game-of-thrones/s05/e06/

Keep whining about book readers if you want, but it may be time to admit that the show is objectively shitty this year.

It's a down season for sure. Lots of shows have them. Hell, all do with exception to a handful. But it's not shitty by any means. It's just not OMGZBBQ!11!!!1

I find it shitty, imo. I loved the Arya stuff in this last episode, but I found myself wanting to fast forward a lot of stuff.

Here is my view on the whole thing, and yes it is utter book snobbery.

D&D, the show runners, are the dudes who made X-Men Origins: Wolverine. One of the worst movies of all time. The one with sword-hand Deadpool that they're now having to retcon out it was so fuging dreadful. They made that.

They have done a good job of adapting these books through the first seasons, but as they have less and less source material, they are forced to fill in their own ideas. And their own ideas are ideas of the calibre of X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

That's why as the show goes on, the reviews are worse and worse. Yes some of it is book snobbery, people not liking that it's different. But there's a legitimate case to be made that these are simply dreadful producers and dreadful ideas.

I haven't caught up on the books and I'm still enjoying the show.  After being bored with most of season 3 I learned to judge a season as a whole after it's done.  The dorne plot line - every single thing about it - is just horrible.  It's completely out of sync with the series.  I understand all the limitations and difficulties of turning a very detailed book series into a show but it's just bad tv.  All the other parts are fine, if not a little slow, but that's fine with me, I'll just wait to where it goes.

As for the sansa rape stuff.  Yes the RW was clearly more brutal.  But it was a huge twist in the plot.  It made my stomach churn but it was a fantastic 'holy poo' moment.  Sansa's rape just felt bitter and nothing else.  It was like someone took a giant turd and slowly brought it to my face and rubbed it all over.  It wasn't a big surprise, it didn't change the dynamic of the story, it didn't do anything really.  It just felt bad.

The worst part of this season though is the thought that maybe the best part of this story is over and it will end badly.
