Rex Ryan's diarrhea of the mouth continues...

Rex Ryan left little doubt in his new book that he thinks the Jets - not the Giants - officially own the city.

"When people ask me what it's like to share New York with the Giants, my response is always I am not sharing it with them - they are sharing it with me," Ryan writes. "Some people like to say the Giants are the big brother team and the Jets are the little brother team. I know it's going to (tick) off every Giants fan to hear this, but here you go: I really don't care.

"We came to New York City to be the best team in the NFL, not just the best team in New York City. And I have news for you: We are the better team. We're the big brother....It seems clear that right now we are the better team and we are going to remain the better team for the next 10 years. Whether you like it or not, those are the facts and that's what is going to happen."

Ryan also called Rhodes, who was traded after the 2009 season, a "selfish-ass guy."

"He wouldn't work, and he was a Hollywood type, flashy and needing attention," Ryan wrote.

Ryan admitted that he believed Gholston was a "phony" coming out of college, but he was committed to making him a better player.

He better hope the Jets keep winning, because they second they stop, his ass is on fire.

I guess the Giants are that annoying overachieving little brother that Mom likes best. She says she loves them both, but every time the Jets overhear her on the phone she's telling everyone about the time the Giants won the Super Bowl and beat the 18-0 Patriots. And when her friends ask, "So how are the Jets doing?" she just says, "Oh, they're doing fine."

    • It’ll be interesting to see how the board falls I completely agree with you on TE for us The safety from Oregon would be the cherry on top for Evero’s defense/scheme.  If a OL’men is there that you love it would be very hard to pass up. This fan base seems to just see Walker as a stop gap but I wouldn’t be so sure. He’s the same age as Ekwonu. He’s had a much more impressive career arc/progression than Icky has. He’s the better pass protector. As far as I see it if Walker has a good year I’d bring him back over Icky. Ekwonu isn’t some elite franchise LT. Playing next to Lewis is going to be great for Walker much like it has been for Icky. We definitely need to get younger/cheaper on the OL though so for this reason alone it’s still top of my list come round 1 if board falls this way  Could also use another corner with Mike Jackson’s deal up after this season and needing a nickel but Corey Thornton looked really good in that role in the limited time we got to see him. However he’s coming off an achillies injury and you never know with those.  Then as mentioned above we do still have a need at WR. As far as “weapons” go it’s kind of a 2 man show with Tmac and Coker and neither is a burner. If Jordan Tyson is there at 19 and we can have a young WR group locked up for cheap that’s a huge advantage cap wise  And don’t forget linebacker. That clip in Devin’s Lloyd blueprint they used from Evero saying they need more intelligence there could’ve been left out for Wallace’s sake but it’s true. Wallace is lost in coverage. Pair a smart linebacker with Lloyd and that’s a group with Wallace and Cherelus being depth
    • The fact that this is even a discussion is a testament of the level of front office badassery that's going on.
    • Not always. LT was for the Giants. So was Ray Lewis. Von Miller was moreso than Manning his final year in the season that shall not be named. It's usually the QB, but not always.
