Everette Brown?

He may have cost us a future first rounder but was a second rounder. If you count him as a first rounder since we lost that pick last year, then you are judging a guy after what would have been his rookie year (even though he was in the league 2 years). Give him 3 years from when he cost us a first rounder. If by the end of 2012 he still sucks, then you are right.

He was picked 43rd overall in the second I said 1rst round.

Everette Brown "was" a 1st round pick. He cost us a 1st round pick. I consider that the same.

Just as Armanti Edwards "was" a 2nd round pick despite the fact he was actually drafted in the 3rd.

I should've prefaced my response with "current" or future 1st rounders.

Cam Newton: Carolina's felon qb.

What's the point of saying this? A college kid bought a laptop on the cheap that turned out to be stolen. What's the big deal? When I was kid I probably would have done it and so would a lot of people. Does that make me Carolina's Felon fan?

I'm not even a solid Cam supporter and there are a lot of reasons to be skeptical about him on the football field but to say he is Carolina's Felon QB is completely stretching things way beyond the realm of objectivity or fairness.

Everybody isn't as squeaky clean as The Golden Calf of Bristol. As a matter of fact, look at the example of his father set for him by trying to pimp out the QB services of his son. With that type of person for a father, I'm surprised Cam hasn't gotten in more trouble.

If he is a panther and you support this team then you have to support cam.

False.

I'll be rooting for Matt Moore to win the job in training camp. If it comes to it I'll even root for Jimmy Clausen to win the job as he at least is a terrible QB with a year of experience as opposed to a terrible QB with no experience.

I'm not a fan of drafting Cam. But here are the 4 reasons why it'll be good...

-Playing with him on Madden. It'll be fun, I admit.

-The fact that he has a chip on his shoulder from all of his nay-sayers.

-Being in a division with Josh Freeman, Matt Ryan, and Drew Brees.... it would really hard to not want to be better than them when you see them twice a year. I'm trying to see this through Newton's eyes... would you really want to Freeman being better than you???

-It'll put the spotlight on the Panthers. Give the organization some flare.

I'm just trying to be positive here.

One thing that will be fun to watch for the folks that still resist Cam if we draft him, JR is going to go overboard on making him the face of the franchise.

He alluded to it back in the original presser. Just like in his coach, he wants to Rah Rah types on the players.

So not only will he be drafted, but it will be CAM CAM CAM CAM CAM from the panthers PR machine.

Going to be fun to watch

FOrced to support Delhomme as the only options for years, forced to support a Peppers that was picking his butt for games at a time, forced to support the owner going to extremes and fuging the team out of a year, forced to support Clausen and everything this team did to fug him up, forced to support an AE bullpoo trade that seemed more like a business move, forced to deal with Hurney stupidly messing with future picks, forced to deal with already fuging up a QB #1 overall pick with a prospect who was suppose to put us on the map but instead sunted the new organization initial spurt growth, forced to deal with $6.50 budlight, forced to deal with ugly cheerleader, and fuking gay ass theme song and the worst stadium atmosphere in the NFL.

Yea....my panthers force me to deal with a lot, kind of like a wife, but you love her and will support them no matter what, but Newton? Not a big challenge for fans who have been through worse with the team.

If Newton is picked, welcome aboard bro!

    • This is huge may not be a trap game but this plays a major part in what they want to do. If we can get some pressure on Sam we know what he does with pressure coming hit and heavy. Also we may be able to take the top off their defense a backup safety trying to stop TMac or Cooker over the top or forcing him to play the backend should allow us to run the ball somewhat effectively. Either they allow some runs or we take some shots and if Bryce and whoever can connect deep we’ll be in business for another big time win against a top notch opponent. Might not be a trap game but health travel game plans all play a major role in each weeks game plan and this week might be leaving our way. We’re missing some replaceable pieces they’re missing key anchors to the offense and defense major difference time to solidly ourselves at one of the top teams in the nfc tomorrow fellas buckle up.
    • Yes.  If I am not mistaken, we need to sign Coker to the ERFA tender and insist that XL spends his spring and summer at a WR camp and not Coon huntin on his four wheeler.  XL was raw when we picked him--which is why I wanted to go another direction--and we are seeing how raw.  He is basically learning a position.     The Panthers will make their move in 2026 to be an NFL powerhouse behind Bryce.  Bryce needs intelligent WRs who catch the ball.  That said, we need a solid #2 to challenge XL and make cutting him easy, if necessary.  A #2 WR (intented to be a #1 by now) with under 400 yards is embarrassing.   On offense, you have to ask, "Where can we get better?"  In my view, #2 WR, TE (although they are improving) and maybe C (again, if we re-sign Mays, he is trending up and at 26, entering his prime--I say stay with him and find competition later in the draft (not good for C).  OL depth maybe?  In other words, XL is a glaring weak spot.
