According to Paolantonio, Rivera said the Panthers are calling around to gauge interest in possible trades. The coach said this year’s third-round pick could be part of the package, along with an early-round pick in 2012.

The Panthers have two third-round picks this year. The second one is the final pick of the third round and was a compensatory pick for the loss of Julius Peppers. The Panthers are not allowed to trade the compensatory pick.

Paolantonio said Rivera expressed the Panthers would target a defensive tackle or cornerback if they can get into the second round.

fug that noise.

If anything they should trade our 3rd rounder for a future 2nd round pick. I'm sick of going into every draft lacking high value picks. We aren't going to win the super bowl next year, there is no reason to get desperate and trade away our future.

exactly my thoughts

if a DT falls down to late 2nd that they are really interested in no doubt in my mind Hurney's going to pick up the phone and start making some calls

Phil Taylor or Stephen Paea might fall

uggg

Just stay put. I find it hard to believe Marty hasn't realized trading future first or second round picks for a worse pick in the present is not a good plan. Especially when all you preach is building through the draft.

    • Why is that the play you pick? That was a 25 yard rope for a TD if I recall correctly.
    • I really had no idea people can't sign up for new accounts.  That's a slow death for sure. Yeah like others I've been here since the beginning (well and the new site as well).  Like a lot of things in life, the huddle is just a relic from the past (especially when it comes to the internet).  The place used to be bumping.  Even the Tinderbox was pretty fun pre-2020.   If someone had the know how they could just make a new website with forums with a new name and I bet people would migrate over if advertised here.   Favorite board moment?  There was a lot, but the forehead kisses Ecat story was entertaining lol.
    • If they go 50/50 I wouldn't be surprised if Pickett could beat him out lol.
