Agree with OP. This would be a huge splash and Big Cat has the roster primed to make a run at him.

I would sacrifice something in the future this year more than any other to get Austin since we still have free agency ahead of us and could possibly get some talent in the system to make up for sacrificed future picks due to our reduced payroll and ability to deal for some vets to add depth.

He will be expensive, but not as expensive as what the Raiders gave him. AND we have the cap room to make a splash. I would throw money his direction.. he locks down a whole side of a field.

To me, yes. Players making that kind of money (coming in via FA) rarely ever makes the impact fans and FO assume they will make. Besides that is a lot of your budget to sink into 1 player especially if the Cap ends up getting lowered next year.
